From age 22 to 28, Song Ranran witnessed Qiao Fan's transformation from student to star.
On camera, Qiao Fan was a gentle, poised heiress whom everyone adored. Only Song Ranran knew all the bad temper beneath that perfect facade.
She had been at Qiao Fan's beck and call for six years, always ready whenever she was needed.
Qiao Fan would suddenly show up at her home in the middle of the night after Song Ranran had worked all day, disturbing her rest. When she got a craving, she would make Song Ranran brave a torrential downpour to buy Black Forest cake from the shop farthest from her home. And when she lost control, she would hysterically use Song Ranran as a trash can for her emotions...
Song Ranran didn't care about any of it. She always remembered the young, still-naive Qiao Fan saying she liked her, as if nothing else mattered.
Until the day she heard Qiao Fan discussing their relationship with someone else.
"What right does she have to be my girlfriend? She's just a bedmate..."
At last, Song Ranran saw what was truly in Qiao Fan's heart.

The magazine Le Du was on the verge of closing. Song Ranran, an editor there, joined her direct superior, Qi Shu, in finding a way to save it.
Song Ranran was so busy she could barely tell night from day. When Qiao Fan called her again and again, she switched off her phone without hesitation.
She didn't have time to keep orbiting Qiao Fan anymore.
One day, her meticulous, cold superior took her to a bar, got drunk, and was brought back to Song Ranran's home.
Drunk out of her mind, Qi Shu pinned her down, her eyes hazy with tears, and kissed her. "Song Ranran, do you still remember me?"
-
Many years ago, Qi Shu had been the same age as Qiao Fan.
Qiao Fan was a dazzling flower in a greenhouse, pursued by everyone. Qi Shu had worked herself to the bone to get into the best high school in the city, yet she couldn't bridge the gulf between rich and poor and chose to fall into ruin.
She rode motorcycles, smoked, and got into fights. She was the complete opposite of Qiao Fan, the lofty rich girl of that time. "Bad girl" was a label stamped onto her.
That night, she sat smoking on a public bench in the park. A girl came over, took the cigarette from her, and brushed her soft fingertip against Qi Shu's lips.
"Why is a kid like you smoking?"
The moon was bright, and the breeze was gentle.
The girl, who wasn't much older than her, handed her a magazine and patted her shoulder. "If you're unhappy, read Le Du."
Qi Shu remembered Le Du for many years, and she remembered the girl for just as long.
But Song Ranran's heart belonged to someone else.
-
Qiao Fan never imagined that the person who had always said she loved her would one day leave her so decisively.
When someone leaves, love fades away.
"Song Ranran, why don't you love me anymore?"
