Then he got into a car bound for the airport, did his civic duty by calling the police, tossed his phone out the window, and drove off without looking back. Years later, they met again. Ji Yunhe, once a fresh and ethereal figure like a celestial crane, now hid a mad streak of utter contempt beneath his calm, detached exterior. When Jiang Lian demanded, full of resentment and bitterness, "Did you really never feel anything for me during that year and a half?"
