Bad Luck Incarnate

Shen Yue was born with a constitution that brought bad luck. His parents abandoned him, his orphanage closed, and his adoptive parents died in a car accident. On the day of his college entrance exam, he and a friend got trapped in an elevator.

At last, he managed to grow up, only to find that every place he worked shut down. Eventually, he hid at home, and then his house collapsed too.

One day, rule-based horror stories descended, plunging the whole world into panic. While everyone else studied the rules, Shen Yue lay flat and waited to die. His neighborhood had been taken over by the S-rank horror, Plague Moths;

the street where he lived had been covered by the SS-rank horror, a catastrophic flood;

and the region was shrouded by the SSS-rank horror, the Red Moon.

With no hope of a government rescue, people could only rely on themselves. But in truth, everyone was waiting for a grim outcome.

Yet in just a few days, the Plague Moths ate poisonous mushrooms and died of poisoning.

The catastrophic black flood was sucked dry, without a single drop left.

The evil moon in the sky developed cataracts in its red eye and went blind.

An investigation team hurried over to look into things. The government soon decided to recruit Shen Yue as a horror-story vanguard, but then they discovered that the childhood friend and boyfriend by his side, who was paralyzed, had an unusual appetite, and was on death's door, was actually a super-SSS-rank horror, an evil god. Everyone trembled in fear.

Shen Yue had an absolute-disaster constitution. When humans came into contact with him, they had bad luck. When horrors came into contact with him, they died.

Everyone needed him, but they were also afraid his friend would reveal his true nature and eat all of humanity.

Years ago, a horror descended upon Qi Jue alone, and by chance he drew the Taotie card.

Every day, he ate. He ate mud and steel, ate until he was poisoned and threw up, ate until he had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

He was hungry all the time. Everyone feared him and kept their distance. Only Shen Yue worried he wasn't getting enough to eat, bringing him all kinds of food every day, staying by his side and comforting him.

He ate until the orphanage went bankrupt, and nearly ate the orphanage walls along with the other orphans.

Later, he ate Shen Yue's adoptive parents' car and nearly ate his adoptive parents too.

He ate the elevator on the day of Shen Yue's college entrance exam, and the company Shen Yue worked for along with his colleagues. Eventually, he ate his way into becoming a horror, an evil god.

And when rule-based horror stories descended upon the whole world, the S-rank, SS-rank, and SSS-rank horrors crossed his path. The love-crazed maniac cried, "You want to steal my wife from me? Die!!!"

Worldwide announcement: Horror Qi Jue, code name Taotie.

Rule: Everything within his sight is food.

How to escape: Be sure to loudly tell him that his wife sent you to deliver his lunch.

Shen Yue takes his dependent across provincial borders for work. His shy dependent smiles. "Wife, if I eat a plane flying at 900 miles per hour, will you still love me?"

Shen Yue: "Silly!"

Shen Yue travels abroad on a private jet. His evil-god lover blushes. "Wife, if I eat a missile traveling at Mach 20, will you still love me?"

Shen Yue: "Go ahead and eat it."

A human shou whose bad-luck constitution is the natural enemy of horrors x an evil-god gong who eats everything but is kept on a diet by his wife.
