It was a fog NPC in an infinite-flow world, nourished by players' fear until it gradually developed a will of its own.
But it had no heart, and could not live independently outside the dungeon. After the last player cleared the dungeon, it fell into a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, the headmaster of a federal aristocratic high school was sent to prison for financial crimes. Ji Su, his illegitimate son, fell from grace overnight. His financial support was cut off, his mother lost her mind, and his position at the academy became worse than that of an ordinary student admitted through special consideration.
The academy brought in a new group of board members, and a new generation of elite heirs rose to power. Ji Su's name dropped from No. 1 on the list of financial backers and disappeared altogether. His ugliness, aloofness, and isolation only made his situation worse.
He slept in his dorm room for ten days without going to class. Only the System knew that he had killed himself.
The System was at a loss: his story wasn't over yet, so what was it supposed to do? It could only grab some random, tough-as-nails wandering ghost and shove it into his body, adjusting all the body's data to suit the new Host.
"Ji Su" came back to life.
He opened his eyes. His dark, lustrous gaze was like a pair of extravagant, precious jewels. Black hair partly veiled the bridge of his nose, but could not conceal the stunning beauty at the corners of his eyes.
He curled up like a newborn on a bed stained with dried blood. His face was as milky white as frost, his expression so cold and indifferent that it seemed utterly devoid of warmth.
He was like a dark, beautiful flower spirit born in a secluded mountain valley, and also like a bewitching vessel, a body born from human desire and fear.
He was certainly not Ji Su, yet no one could have looked more like "Ji Su."
Ji Su turned his head. Catching the scent of blood, his lashes fluttered like butterfly wings, and he suddenly grew curious about this world.
The System had no idea what kind of creature it had summoned. It could only stare at this beautiful body, so utterly different from before. "...Babe, I'm sorry. If you can just live as Ji Su until graduation, this body is yours. Please, please!"
"Sure."
Ji Su lazily licked his lips and pulled the pale gray uniform of a low-ranking student over his slender, cream-white body.
The academy had a history of a hundred years, and its courses were classified as federal secrets. Its students came from wealthy and powerful families, all children of high-ranking officials, magnates, and celebrities. It offered top-tier education in conduct and character, so it was only natural that the headmaster's reputation mattered especially much at such an academy, and that Ji Su was unwelcome.
At the start of the second year, Ji Su walked onto campus. Countless pairs of eyes watched him from the shadows. The instant his face turned toward the floor-to-ceiling windows of the classroom building, everyone saw him, and everything quietly began to change.
Ji Su found humans strange: the pointed rumors, the social gatherings that drew a line between him and everyone else, the coded language he couldn't understand, all kinds of polls about him, and the endless stalking and surreptitious filming. Blurry videos of him in the changing room, swimming pool, racetrack, lounges, and elsewhere were copied and saved by everyone.
Ji Su went to class and ate as usual. He didn't understand their behavior, but respected it.
As for them excluding him from their elite social circles and even looking down on him, he didn't care. After all, their insatiable, predatory nature brought endless trouble into his life. Once they got something, they wanted more, like a pack of beasts that had scented their prey. They would squeeze the prey for its very last tear, watering the buds that bloomed from their malice.
In truth, it wasn't the fault of those lofty, arrogant, cold-blooded, selfish, hypocritical, aloof children of privilege.
Ji Su simply refused to play by the academy's rules. He would grab a dead rat by its tail from a locker, carry it to the other person's desk, and gently set the corpse on their open textbook. Then he would say to the boy, whose forehead was slick with cold sweat, "Your present is dead. I'm so sorry."
Someone anonymously stuffed his "dirt" into the student council's complaint box to force him to drop out. But they could also trade a kiss for it.
At the time, Ji Su was using a small knife to cut open a frog for a lab class. A little bright red blood stained his fingertip, and his smile was innocent and alluring. "Then make it public."
So those eyes in the shadows really wanted to know what it would take to make him scream in terror and cry pitifully, to make him lie helplessly in someone's arms like a solitary swallow in the rain, needing comfort and kisses, offering up his soft body of his own accord and begging for more... didn't they?
For the sake of that anticipation, they bound Ji Su one after another with tempting offers of power, making the beauty dance on the edge of a blade. They waited for him to fall from a great height, then seized him tightly with their power-wielding hands and dragged him into this stagnant, dull, decaying world, as if pulling a ray of light into hell.
Until this unconventional pearl, unconcerned with worldly rules and wild in both conduct and temperament, became the lustrous jewel set in the crown of their lives, the one they were proudest to show off.
1. The protagonist's mental state is stable: he's beautifully, unapologetically crazy, a wild beauty who ignores the rules because he doesn't understand them.
2. Lots of love interests. I'll decide as I write. What's the point of an aristocratic academy if there's only one love interest?
Theme: May you love yourself and have a beautiful life.
