(This novel will be completed on August 2. Please check out my currently serialized novel, The Fair, Rich Little Nanny of the 1980s. Its blurb is below.)
Blurb:
In 1980, Gu Liancheng received a telegram from home. His family had found him a wife back in his hometown and wanted him to return at once. At the time, he was out on a mission.
In 1980, Jiang Xiaoyu was supposed to marry the director of the meat processing plant. But her family schemed against her, marrying her off to Gu Liancheng, whose job was dangerous and who already had two younger siblings to support. Jiang Xiaoyu cried and made a scene, then was suddenly struck by lightning. When she woke up, she had awakened.
According to the original plot, Jiang Xiaoyu refused to accept that only one person had attended her wedding banquet, and she kept going to visit the plant director she had once been introduced to. At home, the four children were either hungry or sick. After awakening, Jiang Xiaoyu saw the four younger siblings she and Gu Liancheng had each been saddled with, all skin and bones and huddled in a corner.
After awakening, she gained the ability to transmigrate to the modern era. Jiang Xiaoyu sighed, gathered the four little ones into her arms, and started selling vegetables to people from the modern era in the 1980s to earn money. Then she waited for Gu Liancheng to come home.
Gu Liancheng's mission was over, and he was handling the paperwork to leave the military. One phone call after another came from his hometown, each one reporting on the wife he had never met.
"Gu Liancheng, Jiang Xiaoyu chased the children with a rolling pin again."
"Gu Liancheng, Jiang Xiaoyu won't give your younger siblings anything to eat."
"Gu Liancheng, Jiang Xiaoyu and the kids have all climbed onto the roof."
Gu Liancheng returned to his hometown in a panic. He found that the dilapidated house had been renovated, his younger siblings were wearing new clothes without a single patch, meat hung beneath the eaves, and fish simmered in the pot. One younger sibling was tending the fire, another was cooking, and there were two children he didn't recognize, presumably his wife's younger siblings. They were gathered around a washbasin doing laundry.
There was also a pretty young woman he didn't know. Gu Liancheng heard his younger brother call to her, "Sister-in-law, that's my big brother."
Gu Liancheng saluted the young woman he was meeting for the first time. "Comrade Jiang Xiaoyu, hello. I'm Gu Liancheng."
According to the original plot, Gu Liancheng wasn't supposed to come home for another year. With her plans thrown into disarray by the sudden appearance of a husband, Jiang Xiaoyu said, "...Let's raise the kids together by agreement for now, and separate later?"
Gu Liancheng: ..."Huh?"
The two began their days of raising the children by agreement, each with their own agenda.
The Fair, Rich Little Nanny of the 1980s is now being serialized. Blurb:
When Tao Jiang was eighteen, she went to work as a nanny in Han Changfeng's home. After ten years, Han Changfeng asked if she would marry him. Tao Jiang had loved him for ten years, so of course she said yes.
After the wedding, Han Changfeng was just as cold as he had been when he was her employer. His relatives, who had once ordered the little nanny around, could no longer boss her about, so they sneered, "Han Changfeng doesn't like her. He's just afraid she'll get married and leave, and then no one will cook for him."
After they married, Han Changfeng became even busier, spending all his time in the research lab. He also gave Tao Jiang a pile of medicine, saying it was vitamins to keep her healthy, and handed over his entire salary and bonuses. It was all very nice, but a marriage without the warmth of love felt rather pointless.
Han Changfeng collapsed in the research lab. Only then did Tao Jiang learn that he had discovered her illness and proposed to her that very day. After that, he devoted all his time and energy to researching a miracle cure to keep her alive, and ended up collapsing from exhaustion himself.
Han Changfeng said guiltily, "Tao Jiang, I should have proposed to you in the first month you came to my home. When I found out about your illness, I should have put everything aside and stayed with you. It feels like I made the wrong choice at every turn. I never gave you the most beautiful kind of love."
Tao Jiang wept. The loveless marriage she had believed herself to be in was actually the deepest, most precious love he had hidden away.
The two went home and made love with an intensity they had never known before. When Tao Jiang opened her eyes, she had been reborn in 1983.
After being reborn, Tao Jiang shed the insecurity she had carried in her previous life and became proactive. Han Changfeng backed away in alarm. "You little nanny, what are you doing in my study in the middle of the night? Get out, or I'll fire you tomorrow."
Afraid he would work himself to death, Tao Jiang brought him pear soup with fritillaria bulbs. "Finish this and go to bed. Otherwise, I'll quit tomorrow."
After some time, Han Changfeng had a regular sleep schedule and was full of energy. He was especially lively while doing medical research. There was just one problem: the nanny in his home was far too flirtatious. He would have to talk to her about it.
After his relatives had spent a while trying to flirt with the nanny to get her to do their work, Han Changfeng flatly refused. "It's one thing to order me around, but what gives you the right to order my nanny around?"
When a relative tried to get Tao Jiang to care for her during her postpartum confinement, Han Changfeng scolded them. "Whoever had the baby can take care of it. Tao Jiang has to study for the college entrance exam. She can't afford to waste time."
After the college entrance exam, Tao Jiang got into medical school. When Han Changfeng came to give a lecture, Tao Jiang asked him with a perfectly serious expression, "Professor Han, do you have a moment? There's a pathological case I'd like to ask you about."
After dark, Tao Jiang barged into the study and ordered, "Han Changfeng, look at the time! Go to bed already. Don't you care about your life?"
During her internship, Tao Jiang followed the youngest vice president of the hospital with the utmost respect. "Director Han, could I take a few minutes of your time? There's a difficult case I'd like to ask you about."
As she asked her question, Tao Jiang, perfectly serious, quietly slipped a boiled egg into the pocket of the young director's perfectly serious white lab coat. "A little extra food. You are not allowed to skip meals."
After dark, Tao Jiang took a bath to ease her fatigue, then coquettishly addressed the workaholic bent over his desk. "I've been standing all day, and my legs are sore. Director Han, could you give me a massage?"
Han Changfeng was quite aggrieved. "People are already gossiping behind my back that I'm taking advantage of an intern. Could you at least spare me some dignity? We've been married for three years. Can't we finally have a wedding banquet and make it official?"

There are so many jokes in the first few chapters that I can write thirty chapters to win over the younger brothers and sisters with different backgrounds, and then repeat the sales. Persistence is victory. Come on.
Probably because there is basically no emotional line between the male and female protagonists. But I also like the plot.
