A few years later, as Jiang Yin lay dying, she sighed to Zhou Chengfeng, “If I’d known the college entrance exams would resume in 1977 and people would be allowed to go into business in 1979, I should have spent those ten years eating well, drinking well, and raising the children properly.” When she opened her eyes again, Jiang Yin was back in 1967. She was healthy, and Zhou Chengfeng had just divorced and was still walking without a limp. This time, Jiang Yin wouldn’t wait.
