Kind-hearted but sharp-tongued orphan girl vs. gentle, long-suffering deity
Xia Weizhou, in a rare act of kindness, picked up a beautiful young man. If anyone else had seen her, they would have said she had ulterior motives. After all, everyone thought she was a wicked woman with a strange personality.
She had picked him up hoping he could help with the work, but soon discovered he was an idiot who knew nothing at all.
He didn't know how to get dressed, how to eat, or even how to speak.
And he was terribly shy, too.
Xia Weizhou might as well have been raising a little ancestor. She taught him to dress, eat, and talk, until one day the young man asked her what his name was.
She casually gave him one: "Wen Ruo."
"Th-thank you... Sister Xia." The young man smiled brightly, speaking with some difficulty.
As the days went by, she gradually grew used to having Wen Ruo by her side. But she was surprised to discover that there was something unusual about him.
"How did you grow so tall so fast?"
"I'm sorry, Sister Xia." The young man blushed.
"Why aren't you eating again? You don't have to keep saving food for me. Don't you feel hungry?"
"I'm sorry, Sister Xia." The young man lowered his eyes, looking aggrieved.
"What happened to your wound? I can't see it at all anymore."
"I'm sorr..." Xia Weizhou glared at him. "You're a man. Stop saying you're sorry all the time."
She thought they would go on living peacefully like that, but one day Wen Ruo left without a word. Then a great fire swept through and destroyed everything Xia Weizhou had.

A strange man claimed to be a deity and offered her three wishes.
But Xia Weizhou wouldn't make her third wish, not until one day that man disappeared, too.
At the very moment before her death, she finally thought of what she wanted to wish for.
"I want him to live."
Note:
1. A little angst makes the sweetness sweeter; happy ending.
2. Both are virgins; a little raising-the-love-interest dynamic.
Theme: Only by living on can there be hope.
