Yan Xiao is a humble wage earner who gets up early and works late to save money for his family's medical bills.
The good news: One day, he suddenly learns that he's actually the real young master of the wealthy Lin family, who was lost years ago!
The bad news: Once he's brought back into the family, he'll have to marry Lu Yunzhen, the second young master of the Lu family!
Lu Yunzhen is said to be cold and arrogant, unpredictable, and, to top it off, unable to get around without a wheelchair.
Lin Zhilu, the fake young master who was supposed to marry him, is completely unwilling. So the Lin family decides to kick their own emotionally detached son out to marry into the Lu family, and bribes Yan Xiao into thinking he's just going there to help look after someone.
Yan Xiao: Even young masters from rich families have to work as caretakers!? But money's money, and only a fool would turn it down. Looking after someone? I'm great at that, hehe!

Lu Yunzhen suddenly interrupts him. "Yan Xiao."
Yan Xiao pauses and changes direction. "What is it now, young master!?"
Lu Yunzhen shows no remorse, his tone cool. "Get out. If you keep me from sleeping, you're dead."
Yan Xiao doesn't leave. Instead, he brings over the first-aid kit, pulls back Lu Yunzhen's blanket, and expertly disinfects his injured leg, carefully wiping away the pus with a cotton swab. "If it hurts, say so. I'll be gentler."
"You..." Lu Yunzhen is momentarily speechless. He turns away, the tips of his ears secretly reddening. "Don't think this means I'll put up with living with you for the rest of my life."
Yan Xiao: Good heavens, you want to buy out my whole life too!

At a banquet a few months later, everyone is waiting to laugh at the real Lin family young master, who's not favored by his family, and the cripple from the Lu family. Instead, they see a prominent military district bigwig bowing and scraping behind Lu Yunzhen!
Everyone: ???
It turns out that the mysterious head of Division Seven, who wields enormous power, is none other than the second young master of the Lu family!
Lin Zhilu is so full of regret he could kick himself. He intends to go to the restroom to fix his appearance before ingratiating himself with Lu Yunzhen, but catches the young master of the Lu family personally lifting Yan Xiao onto the sink.

Who would have thought Zou Chong would produce a contract, offering to let him off in exchange for his cooperation?
The contract says Tang Anwu must pretend to be Zou Chong's fiancé, who ran away to escape the wedding, and accompany him to public events. He must enter the entertainment industry and act in a movie directed by Zou Chong, helping the marriage arrangement proceed smoothly. Once Zou Chong gets what he wants, they can end the marriage.
He can clean up the mess left by the original cannon-fodder and continue the career he had in his previous life. He gets to have his cake and eat it too!
Sign! Tang Anwu waves his hand and signs without hesitation!

Following the character description in the contract, Tang Anwu diligently plays the spoiled brat, while carefully making sure not to mess up at work or cause trouble on set.
He's often the first to complain about being hungry after a scene, and then throws his weight around, complaining that the crew's boxed meals taste awful. In the end, he asks Zou Chong to advance his pay so he can order the crew a better meal.
After this happens a few times, Tang Anwu often catches people whispering about him behind his back. Given how demanding he is, it's only natural that they'd gossip.
Tang Anwu doesn't take it to heart. Whenever he bumps into them, he quietly slips away. Little does he know the people gossiping about him are eating the extra food he ordered, crying as they chew. "I secretly called him names. I'm the worst! Young Master Tang has the face of an angel and the heart of a bodhisattva!"
Zou Chong, who witnesses everything from the side, raises an eyebrow. For once, he doesn't give Tang Anwu a hard time during the next scene.
On the day of the awards ceremony, Tang Anwu accepts the trophy Zou Chong hands him, and the next second finds himself pulled into Zou Chong's arms.
With camera flashes going off all around them, he hears Zou Chong whisper in his ear, "I'm starting to regret introducing you to the world."
Tang Anwu: O.O
That night, amid a sea of fans calling Tang Anwu their wife at a fan event, Zou Chong posts on his rarely updated Weibo account.
The whole internet is stunned to see the cold, stern director competing for attention from afar, demanding that Tang Anwu give him a proper title!

It was a bit awkward to watch, and I felt that many things were not explained. I didn't see the revenge on the Lin family that I wanted to see (I apologize if I read it too quickly and didn't notice it). The conflicts and emotional turns in the middle were not appropriate. The first part is quite interesting, but the plot arrangement after the misunderstandings are clarified feels a bit strange. There is always a breathless and dull feeling, and then the ending is a bit rushed. Although it did not meet my personal expectations of perfection, it was still good overall.
