The Bells of the High Mass

In an age when only a few people have supernatural abilities, 19-year-old Xie Shuangbi can teleport.

As the most promising young assassin in the Great Mass organization, Xie Shuangbi was stabbed in the back by his buddy. He flipped his buddy the bird and hit the road as a fugitive.

In a moment of carelessness, he teleported into... a family's doghouse.

From then on, to evade his pursuers, Xie Shuangbi, whose thought process was unlike anyone else's, pretended to be a dog until he almost believed it himself. Every day, he shared meals with a little white dog that barely came up to his shins.

The man of the house was pretty handsome, but not too bright, Xie Shuangbi thought as he patted his full belly. Didn't he know dogs can't eat chocolate pie, seafood pasta, sweet cherries, or giant pineapples?

The man of the house gave him a warm, gentle smile. So if the dog didn't eat it, whose stomach did it all end up in?

A boy with the ability to teleport has all the time in the world. In the first half of his life, he skipped too many stretches of the road to his destination. What he despised most was time rushing by.

But Xie Shuangbi never expected that one day, he would plead with time as it surged endlessly onward, trying to hold on to someone who was bound to leave.
