Journey to the Green Mountains

[This is a short work the author wrote purely to indulge their own flights of fancy, updated whenever inspiration strikes]

Rong Ming never imagined he would become someone else's child bride...

A medical PhD returning from abroad, the young master of the Rong Consortium, blessed with both talent and looks and excelling in every field: none of those labels should have landed him in this situation.

Unwillingly dumped into the remote wilderness the moment he returned to China, Rong Ming felt no awe toward the mysterious tribe said to have stood for a hundred years. He felt nothing but resentment.

But he never expected to be so irresistibly drawn to a man like him.

As cold as snow on a mountain, as sharp as a sword's edge, the man who cupped water for him to drink beside a clear spring could also stand before the Elders' Hall in a black robe, eyes lowered as he ruled over life and death.

"Xi Jianqing, I don't owe you anything. You can't bully me just because I like you."

Years ago, Xi Jianqing held an infant in his cold arms. After seeing him once, he merely said, "He has beautiful eyes. He will be destined for great things one day."

Years later, those beautiful eyes glared at him, brimming with anger, and awakened memories long since buried.
