After I Became a Widow, Kangxi Became My Lover (Qing Dynasty Reincarnation)

[Will start writing when this reaches 300 favorites]

Bu Yinzhu transmigrated into the harem of the Qing Dynasty.

She became Guoluo Bu Yinzhu, a palace maid assigned to serve Emperor Kangxi in person.

Cautious and discreet, she served by Kangxi's side for ten whole years.

Then, a general amnesty was declared, and she finally endured her way out of the palace ahead of schedule.

Just a few days after leaving, she married the bannerman she had been promised to.

Her new husband was honest and good-natured, from a family of scholars and officials.

With both his parents dead and no brothers to rely on, he seemed like a fine match.

For more than two years after their marriage, the couple treated each other with affection and respect.

Sadly, she never conceived.

Then one day, her husband was ordered to accompany Kangxi on a military campaign.

He met a terrible end, leaving no body behind.

All the evidence pointed to Emperor Kangxi, seated upon the dragon throne.

To avenge her husband, Luoyin carefully arranged a chance encounter.

She vowed to make the hypocritical Emperor Kangxi's affair with the widow of a warrior who died on the battlefield a scandal known to all.

She would make Kangxi despised by the people and strip him of his good name.

Everything went according to plan. Blinded by desire, Kangxi couldn't wait to slip out of the palace each day to meet her in secret.

Then the truth came to light, and everyone found out.

The emperor was humiliated, yet he defied the court's opposition and continued to favor and protect her.

The Son of Heaven even made a fuss about giving her a title.

He insisted on bringing a mere widow into the Forbidden City in grand style and granting her a lifetime of honor and favor.

Just as she pretended to accept the imperial decree naming her a consort, with her entry into the palace and life of favor only days away,

her husband, thought to have died in vain, returned home alive...
