The Retired Big Shot Is Forced Back to Work

A young, handsome security guard has started working at Xingyun Tower. His favorite thing to do every day is sit in the guard booth, read the paper, drink tea, and watch dramas, having entered retirement early.

Drivers passing by always take a second look at his face, then sigh: What a waste. No house, no car, no savings. Just a pretty face, and nothing else.

Shen Xianyun is very happy with his life now. Regular working hours, full social insurance, and a secure retirement. It couldn't be more perfect.

Then one night, while he is on duty, lightning strikes the roof of Xingyun Tower, and Shen Xianyun rescues a handsome boy of about seventeen or eighteen.

The boy is solitary and taciturn, but he can do everything from laundry to cooking.

His stomach conquered, Shen Xianyun takes pity on him and gives him a place to stay. He soon discovers that the boy is either injured or on his way to getting injured.

The Feng family of Haicheng is a cultivation clan. It is a large family, but it keeps a low profile. The clan leader has had no children for years, and the collateral branches are about to take his place. At that point, the clan leader finds his long-lost illegitimate son.

And so Feng Zhu begins a life of constant assassination attempts, until one day a security guard takes him in, giving him a real home.

To avoid dragging Shen Xianyun into his troubles, Feng Zhu agrees to the clan leader's demand that he marry into another family. But his own father turns against him, leaving his life hanging by a thread.

On the day of judgment, Feng Zhu is trapped on the Immortal-Slaying Platform. In the pouring rain, every face around him is waiting for him to die. As he teeters on the brink of death, Shen Xianyun holds an umbrella and walks through a mountain of corpses to stand before him. He holds out his hand. “Come on. Don't make me late for work.”
