Childhood sweethearts / rekindled love / secret crush comes true / funny, sweet romance
Quan Qingqing never imagined that she would see Gu Qi again in her lifetime, much less that their reunion would be because of a dog.
Five years ago, after her golden retriever went missing, Quan Qingqing had a huge fight with Gu Qi, her neighbor and classmate, and decided never to speak to him again.
Not long afterward, Gu Qi moved away. Though they were still in the same city, they lost all contact.
Who could have guessed that the vet treating her long-lost golden retriever after it swallowed a foreign object would be him?
Quan Qingqing looked calm on the outside, but inside she was sweating buckets.
What should she do? Tell him she got a dog as a stand-in for the one she lost? Otherwise, what was the point of that fight?

The next day, on the advice of her unreliable friend, Quan Qingqing went to a bar to flirt with someone and find inspiration for her romance comic. It wasn't until the person turned around that she realized it was Gu Qi.
Quan Qingqing turned to stone on the spot. Could anything be more awkward than trying to flirt with an old acquaintance?
Especially when he said mildly, "Quan Qingqing, I don't think you were wearing that outfit this morning."
She felt like her lifelong reputation had just gone up in smoke.

Quan Qingqing spent three gloomy days at home. Then she unexpectedly ran into him again at a gathering with friends, making for yet another awkward meal.
In the car as he drove her home, Quan Qingqing obediently placed her hands on her lap, looking a little nervous. "Gu Qi, do you kind of hate me now?"
Gu Qi simply kept his eyes on the road and replied with a faint smile, "No. I think of you just like I always did."
"Like what?" Quan Qingqing asked impatiently.
"Quick-witted, cute, and a little funny."
Quick-thinking and adaptable Quan Qingqing × composed, outwardly cold but inwardly warm Gu Qi
