Fated Destiny | Pseudo-G Course

The first time Lu Wanxing saw Chen Yanli, she hated this so-called "older brother" who had been brought home halfway through her life.

His grades were better than hers, and he was more smooth and capable than she was. More importantly, Lu Wanxing had seen how different he was on the inside from the person he showed the world.

By day, Chen Yanli was a model student. At night, he drifted between bars and dance halls, his clean white shirt twisted off to one side as he stood in the shadows, tilting his head back to smoke.

When he suddenly spotted her, he gave a scornful laugh. His lips formed a disdainful sneer as he deliberately called her "little sister."

The next day, Lu Wanxing reported him for smoking and drinking. Who would have thought Chen Yanli would present a report card with the top grades in their year, then lie and claim he had spent the whole night studying?

Later, their circumstances were reversed. The Lu family went bankrupt, and Lu Wanxing, the daughter of an old friend, was sent to live with Chen Yanli's family.

The Chen family home was run-down, with no spare room, so she had to make do sleeping in the living room.

When Chen Yanli came home in the middle of the night, his manner was even more unruly. He stood in the dark and stared at her for a long while, then snatched the blanket from the sofa and harshly told her to get into the bedroom and sleep.

The Chen family was a mess. Chen's father was an alcoholic and a gambler, and his mother had died young. Lu Wanxing spent much of her time trembling with fear around a drunk.

She was terrified.

Then, one day, she hugged her pillow, climbed onto the sofa, and gently leaned against Chen Yanli's burning-hot back. In a soft voice, she gave in to him:

"Brother, I'm scared."

Theme: Only by working together can they overcome adversity.
