There Are Ghosts

A detective with yin-yang eyes x a thousand-year-old ghost

--The title and blurb will probably change. The odds of them staying the same are lower than the odds of winning five million in the lottery.--

Perhaps people don’t believe because they’ve never seen it.

Isn’t insisting that something doesn’t exist simply because you’ve never seen it another kind of superstition?

Lu Heng is young, careless about his cases, and fond of saying:

Believe in science!

What’s there to be afraid of?

Ghosts are the evil hidden in people’s hearts.

Then one day, he finds a skeleton at a crime scene, a thousand years old, face down in death. There’s no way it should be there.

That night, Lu Heng dreams of someone standing in the corner of his room, staring at him in a daze...

--

After that, Lu Heng seems to have unlocked the secret to solving cases. His rank keeps climbing, and he earns the title “Cold Case Buster.”

No one knows he has a ghostwriter behind him: a “fortune-teller” he happened to meet. To keep his reputation intact, he once grabbed the man by the trouser leg and bowed down to him: “Father, I beg you to accept this child’s grand salute!”

One day, he takes on a major case.

With the fortune-teller’s guidance, the second examination of the crime scene goes smoothly.

As they pack up to leave, he tells his colleagues, “Wait a bit. A master is hitching a ride back with us.”

As soon as the words leave his mouth, the fortune-teller is already sitting beside him.

But his colleagues only turn around a moment later. “Where’s the master? When did he get here?”

Lu Heng looks at his colleagues, then at the fortune-teller, his face expressionless. His heart stops for three seconds: There’s a ghost!
