Yukimura, Please Be My Best Friend

My name is Kurokawa Kanade, and I'm a third-year student in the high school division at Rikkai.

I have a secret: I'm in love with the captain of the school's tennis club, Yukimura.

It's really not a big deal. Lots of girls at school like Yukimura.

It's just that my crush is a little unusual.

I secretly follow him and collect things he's used, like the boutonniere from the opening ceremony, a drink bottle he threw away, and the watercolor paints he used.

Sometimes I also consult my crystal ball in the middle of the night to see if we're compatible.

If we're not, I keep calculating until we are.

All in all, my crush is incredibly dark and twisted.

One day, I said to Yukimura, "I wish I could become your closest friend."

Yukimura asked curiously, "Why do you want to be my closest friend, Kanade?"

I replied, "Close friends can talk about anything and spend every day together."

Yukimura said, "Then I think we're already close friends."

I continued, "And then, because our ideals don't match, we kill each other. We feel heartbroken, but at the same time, we completely possess each other. That's how it happens in shonen manga."

Yukimura smiled. "So when you ignore me, you're reading this kind of boring stuff?"

I blinked. Huh? Why does Yukimura seem to have a cloud of dark energy behind him?

Before I could ask, Yukimura continued, "There's another way to completely possess someone."

"What?"

"That's right: lovers."
