The Obsessive Princess Commands Me to Do Her Every Bidding

A sharp-tempered, obsessive princess x a cool, delicate noblewoman

It was said that the capital was home to two peerless beauties.

One was Princess Heqing Yu Zhaoyan, raised in the imperial palace. Her bright features were as striking as peonies in April. She had been adored since childhood. Though the late emperor granted her a fief, he kept her in the capital. Rumor had it she held the reins of power and toyed with political schemes, and that she was haughty, volatile, and indifferent to etiquette.

The other was Shen Yueru, daughter of the Minister of Rites. Her beauty could topple kingdoms, and she was as cool and serene as the crescent moon in the sky. She was obsessed with books and had exquisite calligraphy. She spent her days studying in the library and never concerned herself with worldly affairs.

Though they were celebrated together as the capital's two great beauties, they had never met.

That changed when a marriage contract arrived: Shen Yueru was to marry the female general Ye Yi.

Ye Yi had spent years stationed at the border. She had grown up in the palace and shared a deep bond with Princess Yu Zhaoyan.

She had been betrothed to Shen Yueru in childhood and had met her a few times. When Ye Yi went off to war three years ago, Shen Yueru even sent her a protective amulet blessed at a temple.

Now that it was time to fulfill the marriage contract, she had no choice but to ask her friend Yu Zhaoyan to go to the Shen residence and propose on her behalf.

But Yu Zhaoyan returned with the news that the Shen family denied the betrothal ever existed. After the New Year, Ye Yi returned to the capital and went to the Shen residence herself, only to learn that Shen Yueru had married someone else.

And the person who had taken her betrothed was none other than her closest friend, Yu Zhaoyan.
