A Shonen Manga Protagonist's Struggle to Survive in an ABO World

After transmigrating, Lai Yi, the protagonist of a shonen manga, found himself in an ABO world. The System told him he couldn't return unless he completed his mission.

Lai Yi, looking utterly desperate: What about the people in my original world?

Damn it! He'd only just gotten the boss to its second phase. If he didn't hurry back, his bonds and his hometown would all be going to heaven!

With no other choice, Lai Yi accepted the System's mission to save the protagonist top and bottom.

But why was this world's power system so weird? What did “top and bottom” mean? ABO? Pheromones? Mental strength?

Knowing nothing about any of it, Lai Yi could only train like crazy and grind harder than everyone else, eventually earning special admission to the Imperial Military Academy as the top performer in physical training.

After the System pulled some strings, he successfully ended up in the same dorm room as the aloof beauty bottom.

With a defective gland, unable to smell pheromones, and yet to differentiate, a beta like Lai Yi was considered disabled in the ABO world. The kindhearted Lai Yi was mocked by top-tier Alphas as a clown putting on an act to get the aloof beauty's attention.

So they deliberately pretended they wanted to be friends with him. One struck a pose and secretly tried to seduce him, another played up his childhood trauma, and someone else deliberately picked fights with him, all just to make the aloof beauty see his true colors.

Lai Yi took everything at face value. He stepped up whenever someone needed help, and when they clashed, they fought until they became friends.

As they spent more time together, these favorites of heaven fell for him, and began resenting how close the aloof beauty Omega was to Lai Yi.

Then, one day, after Lai Yi was injured saving them during a military exercise, the aloof beauty and the Alphas finally couldn't hold back and demanded:

“Why did you save me? Who do you actually like?!”

Lai Yi blinked in confusion. “Aren't we all friends?”

As everyone knows, shonen manga protagonists have only three things on their minds: friendship, effort, and victory.

Reading guide:

1. Various tops × a sunny, energetic, straight, battle-crazed bottom. The bottom is handsome and powerful, with the highest combat strength.

2. The bottom will differentiate as an Omega later on, while the original beauty bottom will differentiate again as an Alpha.

3. The story centers on the bottom. All the tops truly love only him. No reversed pairings.

Theme: Friendship, effort, and victory.
