In the Apocalypse, I Became a Big Shot's Lackey

1) While rock climbing, rich second-generation Xiao Yan met a man. The man was not only strong, but also very handsome.

Good-for-nothing, muscle-weak, strength-worshipping Xiao Yan envied him terribly. He deliberately brought over a bottle of water to suck up to him, only to get a cold, merciless "Get lost" in return.

Just as Xiao Yan was about to slink away, having failed to befriend him, he unexpectedly learned that a disaster would strike in ten days.

Seven days later,

Xiao Yan showed up at the man's rental apartment with a little backpack and knocked on the door.

"Hey, big shot! I've stocked up on all the supplies. Can you take me along now?"

2) A bizarre heat wave swept across the entire Blue Star, completely overturning the food chain. Humans were no longer the rulers of the planet. People gradually discovered that a game called "Gifts" had arrived alongside the natural disasters and alien species.

Xiao Yan survived the game against all odds by clinging to a big shot. Full of anticipation, he awakened his ability, only to discover that he was one of those unlucky few who couldn't awaken an ability at all.

Looking at the powerful man before him, now transformed into a beastman, Xiao Yan wiped away his tears and knew which way the wind was blowing. Without hesitation, he rushed over and clung to the man's leg.

"Big shot!!!! Take me along again! I'll be your loyal lackey for the rest of my life."

3) Many, many years later, everyone living on this continent knew that the Gale Squad had a kind-hearted captain named Xiao.

The squad had no shortage of equipment, and even its food was a rare delicacy, scarcely seen at any human base. To get such top-tier treatment, ability users flocked to the recruitment drive, but only a handful managed to join the squad.

Curious, well-meaning bystander A: "Isn't Captain Xiao supposed to be both easygoing and eager to recruit talent? Why can't anyone get in?"

In-the-know, well-meaning bystander B: "No matter how easygoing he is, that's no match for the vicious villain at his side."

Bystander A: "A vicious villain? You mean that scowling guy in the wheelchair who's always with Captain Xiao? A cripple? How strong can he be?"

Bystander B: "You know the man Yancheng's lord joined forces with more than a dozen mercenary squads to hunt down last year?"

Bystander A: "The notorious, brutal villain who supposedly killed so many people? He took part in that famous battle too?"

Bystander B shook his head. "Of course he took part. He's the villain they're talking about."

What the well-meaning bystanders didn't know was that their poor, good-natured Captain Xiao was currently lying in the arms of this "disabled, violent" big shot, comfortably turning over.

#Day N of being a big shot's lackey, and it seems he can't live without me.

Reader's guide:

1) Character setup: A good-for-nothing rich second-generation with a collector's obsession, who wants to recruit every strong person, as the bottom, VS a ruthless, insecure, self-loathing, insanely jealous disabled top.

2) The top is disabled in human form, and even gaining an ability won't change that. His beastman form is healthy. Later in the story, he'll switch back and forth between human and beast forms.

3) The bottom also awakens an ability, but no one notices at first.

4) Single-couple romance, happy ending, silly apocalypse. The story doesn't make much sense, so just have fun. If you insult people for no reason, it'll all bounce right back at you!
