Synopsis

As a prison records administrator, Jiang Ling knows the criminal files he handles inside and out.

After seeing so many criminals and hearing so many stories behind their crimes, Jiang Ling understands how complex and changeable human nature can be.

Some people are born rotten and beyond forgiveness.

Some make one wrong choice after another, until there's no turning back.

Some act on impulse and regret it too late.

And some tragedies are caused by the influence of a dysfunctional family.

One day, Jiang Ling is reborn in 1993. Fresh out of police academy, he is assigned to the Jinwu Road Police Station as a community officer.

The station's public service hall is handling a fight. The officer in charge is lecturing two boys: "Qian Darong, stop picking on Liang Jiushan all the time..."

The two names are so familiar that Jiang Ling freezes.

Liang Jiushan, born in 1978, was imprisoned for murder in 1999. The man he killed was named Qian Darong.

The case caused a sensation throughout the city at the time.

Liang Jiushan dropped out of school and spent six years tracking down the killer of his sister, all so he could kill him with his own hands. In court, he said only four words:

"I don't regret it."

Is his sister still alive now?

I hope there's still time to change everything!

Theme: Good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil.

Some Female-Protagonist Stories I Like (Especially Strong Female Leads)

Includes BG stories with and without female leads. I’m not too strict about what I read, and I think female-lead stories deserve more leeway. Things you definitely won’t find here: misogyny or too many scenes that glorify men.
