The One on Top [Football]

Reborn at twenty-seven, Nesta found everything around him both familiar and strange.

He was still himself. His teammates were still his teammates, and his opponents were still his opponents. The difference was that now he could hear other people's thoughts.

For instance,

On the pitch, he clashed with Zlatan. The obnoxious man said something equally obnoxious, but thought: This is sure to get your attention!

And then,

He happened to run into Zlatan after the match. The obnoxious man was no longer acting cocky, but instead played innocent, weak, and pitiful. Meanwhile, his thoughts went: Pay attention to Zlatan, pay attention to Zlatan, why are you still not paying attention to Zlatan!

Nesta: ... This guy, this whole world, is a little crazy.

[Ta-da!]

[Read this guide before starting. If any of it bothers you, don't read!]

1. CP: Ibrahimovic. One-on-one, not a everyone-loves-the-protagonist story. Everyone else is a great friend.

2. Warning for anyone who dislikes reversed pairings: Ibrahimovic is the gong! Ibrahimovic is the gong! Ibrahimovic is the gong!

3. Lots of personal headcanons. Before being reborn, the characters were all unmarried, not just the protagonists.

4. This will differ greatly from reality. Please don't nitpick while reading.

5. Neither the matches nor anything else is written by an expert, though there shouldn't be much of that sort of content.

6. I couldn't find anything to read, so I decided to write my own. This isn't a factual account. The author will make things up about transfers and such to fit the headcanons. There are lots of plot holes, a messy timeline, and out-of-character moments.

7. Romance-focused, both are reborn, and the mind-reading ability works intermittently.
