[Western Crossover] Eldritch Horror Plays House

You're playing a role-playing game, and at the start of the story you choose to become an aspiring painter. The reason is simple: the 90 in the Inspiration slot on your character sheet is dazzling, especially compared with your measly 18 in Constitution and 25 in Intelligence. And so you become New York's latest rising star. Artists praise your paintings, rich people pay fortunes for them, and viewers linger in front of them for ages. But having such a high Inspiration stat has side effects. For instance, your creations seem to come alive, then turn into urban legends. But that's fine. The city could use a little fresh energy. Naturally, you switch to a new identity and keep doing quests. ·[A few things to know before reading, probably longer than the synopsis]· -◎ The main story is told in third person. It has a bit of everything, with a focus on causing trouble and making a spectacle, in a cosmic-flavored “Mary Sue” style. -◎ The romance is shallow, appears late, and takes up little space. Proceed with caution if that's not for you (window, sign, run!). -◎ Some of the settings are inspired by the game Cultist Simulator. -◎ Everyone is entitled to their reading preferences, and I hope you'll respect the author's personal writing style too. If you don't like it or find it uncomfortable, you can simply stop reading. Please be civil. -◎ Expect some out-of-character moments and plot holes. -◎ The author's notes in the first twenty chapters repeatedly give warnings and try to dissuade readers. Feel free to turn off author's notes if you prefer. -◎ This isn't a conventional player-in-a-game story or simulator-game story, so readers expecting those genres may be disappointed. Much of the story is told from other characters' points of view. Proceed with caution. -◎ Stream-of-consciousness writing. No writing advice, please. -◎ I don't update daily. I type at a snail's pace and have bouts of inspiration drought. Updates are irregular, and the frequency generally depends on the rankings. When I'm not on the charts, expect a new chapter every three or four days. *Finally, happy reading!* Theme: Congratulations, you became you.
