Evelyn loves the world outside. On her first impulsive escape, Sherlock Holmes reported her to her family, and she returned empty-handed.
But she remembered that strange detective.
Her second impulsive escape.
Evelyn: If you're going to tell my family again, I can become your suitor right now. Ready for my daily visits?
Holmes: Uh, I meant to say that Mrs. Day next door is looking for a tenant.
The soundproofing in British townhouses is awful. On her first day on Baker Street, Evelyn hears an annoying violin.
Evelyn raises her voice as she reads Pride and Prejudice: "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man..."
She successfully makes the detective next door put down his violin.
Evelyn realizes she may have fallen in love with the detective next door. She overhears Sherlock and Watson talking.
Holmes: I have a friend, and there's a troublesome lady who admires him. How do you think he should turn her down?
Watson: As far as I know, I could count your friends in London on less than one hand. Is that lady our neighbor?
Holmes: I don't like a restricted life. Evelyn would definitely interfere in my daily routine. She's a nuisance...
Evelyn walks away without looking back. She swears she'll never speak to that arrogant man again.
Sherlock thinks Evelyn is unreasonable, and sometimes she speaks just as sharply as he does.
For instance, when it comes to smoking.
Evelyn: As long as you stay out of my sight, do whatever you want. Even if tobacco kills you, I won't say a word to stop you.
Now he misses Evelyn's sharp words more than ever.

Blurb for the upcoming story A Detective in the Twentieth Century
In 192x, Doris is struggling to get by in London. Fortunately, a classmate's butler recommends a little "business" to her: private detective work.
She also discovers that nobody in the world remembers The Adventures of xxxx, and that there's a new 221B on the real Baker Street.
This is completely different from Doris's memories!
Doris suddenly realizes that she and Sherlock Holmes both graduated from Oxford, and that they were never around at the same time... And she'd never denied that she wasn't Sherlock Holmes... When Doris thinks this, her hands start shaking... The more she thinks about it, the more terrifying it gets...
She understands now. The Sherlock Holmes of the twentieth century is Doris Hollis herself!
And so, Doris uses the name of Sherlock Holmes to complete her cases flawlessly, growing more and more popular among detectives, which makes her even more enthusiastic about role-playing.
Once she has a little money, she rents a place on Baker Street. But she still needs a doctor by her side, so she puts an ad in the paper looking for an assistant.
Could it be that a Mr. Watson really shows up for an interview?!!!
Sherlock Holmes should be at home waiting for his new flatmate to arrive, not in London forty years later.
He sees a different world: people communicate by telephone, use electric lights, and travel by car. More importantly, there's Miss Holmes.
She has a short haircut that reaches her ears. Her loose dress falls just past her knees, and she wears no corset or crinoline. She's articulate and quick-witted.
Sherlock takes the name "Watson" and applies to be her assistant. At first, everything goes smoothly.
"Watson": Miss Doris Hollis, why do you call yourself Holmes?
Doris: It's my stage name. That way my enemies can get their revenge and those who've been wronged can get justice. After all, whatever Holmes does has nothing to do with me, Doris Hollis.
Sherlock Holmes silently adds The Art of Being a Scapegoat to his schedule.
