White Bones

The difference between humans and demons is this:

When humans capture a demon, they take its skin, flesh, and bones to refine into pills and magical artifacts.

But when a demon captures a human, it never separates the flesh from the bones. It swallows them whole, and that is the proper way to do it.

Lang Yue was once one of the most exalted women in the Great Qing Dynasty.

But her mother was gone, and her father showed her no affection.

Her twin brother, Lang Xing, had lost consciousness and lay helpless in bed.

To protect herself, Lang Yue disguised herself as Lang Xing. Emperor Qing sent her to the border city of Sui, in demon territory, to find the Star of Radiance, said to be the one who could save the world.

At the border of Sui, strange cases keep happening. Are demons to blame, or is it human cruelty?
