Blurb:
Jiang Hexi × Yu Xiang
A masochistic, obnoxiously self-important, self-deluded top × a sharp-tongued, haughty bottom who never lets anyone get the better of him
During the summer after graduating from high school, Jiang Hexi got into a fight with his father. At the invitation of a fishing buddy, he went fishing for a little “wellness” in a small town he had never even heard of.
On his first day fishing, he caught no fish and fell into the river instead.
As he fell in, he accidentally dragged someone else down with him.
Jiang Hexi pulled the other person out of the water. He hadn't expected to find a beautiful young man with red lips and pearly teeth. He was instantly dazzled.
The other person slowly came to and grabbed his sleeve. “You... you shouldn't...”
When the young man couldn't get the words out, Jiang Hexi finished for him: “Are you trying to say I don't value my life?”
The young man shook his head, then forced out each word. “Don't... don't drag someone else down with you. If you want to die... die by yourself.”
Jiang Hexi: “...”
They met for the second time in town. Jiang Hexi was taking a stroll with the big fish he'd just caught, while the young man haggled with a street vendor. His stutter didn't stop him from winning the argument hands down.
When the other person glanced his way, Jiang Hexi greeted him. “Fancy seeing you again. What a coincidence.”
But the young man only raised his eyes and looked at him. “Oh... it's you, Mr. Looking-For-a-Way-to-Die.”
Jiang Hexi couldn't understand how a stutter could fail to stop someone from being so sharp-tongued. Even more baffling, he actually enjoyed it.
2. Yu Xiang was an orphan, found and raised by the doctor in Luming Town. He was born with a stutter and was bullied mercilessly as a child. He wasn't the meek sort, and he kept building up his vocabulary so he could deliver a sharp retort every time someone picked on him.
Over time, everyone learned that Yu Xiang was a stutterer you did not want to mess with.
Then one day, he slipped up and was dragged into the river by a stranger.
Luming Town sits by a river, and in summer it attracts plenty of anglers, all with their own peculiar personalities. But Jiang Hexi was the strangest angler Yu Xiang had ever met.
He had never seen anyone walk three laps around Luming Town after catching a fish, showing off his catch to everyone he passed. Nor had he seen anyone who, despite experiencing his sharp tongue firsthand, still kept turning up in front of him every day.
Yu Xiang figured there was probably something wrong with Jiang Hexi's head.
Even more wrong than his own.

1. This story does not discriminate against any illness. The protagonist will gradually recover.
2. The author is terrible at coming up with names, so maybe I'll think of one later.
3. Still a sweet little story, though it might get a little bittersweet.
