The new student was pale and frail, a sickly beauty who looked ready to collapse at the slightest breeze. She stood out among the tall, burly solo units in the mecha department.

The contrast was so absurd that Triton Military Academy’s forum exploded that very day.

[Shouldn’t a pretty face know her place? Is Qin Song going to the mecha department to make her opponents surrender out of pity?]

The comments below were all over the place. Nobody believed this sickly new student stood a chance. Amid the mockery, they all headed over to watch the mecha department’s first ranking match, eager to see how badly the frail girl with the pretty face would get crushed.

When the rankings were announced, everyone fell silent as they saw Qin Song’s enormous lead over second place.

Later...

The second round of the military academy league began, and Triton Military Academy announced its starting lineup.

A name that had once struck fear into the hearts of everyone in the support field appeared in the assault position.

Before the finals, a video of trash talk ahead of the match went viral across the interstellar web.

"Qin Song?" Her former teammate sneered and boasted, "When she was on our team, she couldn’t even kill an A-rank aberrant. Now that she’s lost her healing abilities, she’s just a fallen star. Without an attacker protecting her, she won’t last half an hour. I can make her cry and quit in half an hour."

Half an hour into the match.

A silver-white mecha stabbed through the cockpit of her former teammate’s machine. He tumbled out in a sorry heap and dropped to his knees in front of the girl in a silver-white uniform.

Beside Qin Song, Tianlu, the mental entity everyone had once believed could only heal, raised its head and cried out. Its mental power slaughtered every aberrant attacking them on the spot.

The girl’s gentle almond eyes curved as she used her spear to lift him from the ground. Smiling, she said:

"Trash. I didn’t kill those aberrants back then because I was feeding you energy."
