[Infinite flow | Brother-sister duo | Stockpiling supplies and fleeing | Survival game]
When Chu Fanyin was six, she picked up an older brother.
On a stormy night, a boy curled up in her secret hideout. He was covered in injuries, but his eyes shone as if they held two stars.
Holding an umbrella bigger than herself, she asked seriously, “Come home with me and be my big brother, okay?”
Ji Yu stared at her for a long time.
So long that the rain eased, and so long that Chu Fanyin let out a loud sneeze.
“...Okay.” He reached out and took her hand.
Chu Fanyin grinned. She finally had a big brother!
Then the sky split open.
A huge rift tore through the world. Monsters poured out, and a System voice rang in everyone's mind.

Chu Fanyin was in class when her phone rang.
“Yinyin, get permission to leave school now. I'll come pick you up,” Ji Yu said evenly over the phone.
On the first day of the apocalyptic instance, while everyone else teamed up to stockpile weapons and supplies, Chu Fanyin followed their example and stocked a whole truckload of food.
And one big brother.
When the instance's safe zone began to shrink and monsters charged at them,
Chu Fanyin blasted a monster's head apart with a shot, then pulled her brother, who was a head taller than her, into her arms. “Don't be scared, Brother. Close your eyes.”
Ji Yu buried his face in the crook of her shoulder. “...Okay.”
For a long time, Chu Fanyin thought her brother was the one who needed her protection.
Until the day she came back to the safe house early and saw Ji Yu standing in the middle of the courtyard, with a heap of monster corpses sprawled at his feet.
Blood stained his glasses. He was wiping them unhurriedly when he heard footsteps and looked up, smiling at her.
“Yinyin, if I told you they killed themselves, would you believe me?”
“Brother, you're actually pretty cute when you act all weak.”
“...Then do you like it?”
Chu Fanyin inherited everything in her family, including the older brother she had picked up herself.
