Farewell to Spring

[Republican Era | BE]

When they first met:

He said his name was Lu Heming.

"The crane calls from the marsh, its voice heard in the heavens."

Later:

He asked, "What are you writing?"

She said, "Following Mr. Lu Xun's example. My pen is my blade, my ink its edge. The pen is my rifle."

At the end:

"Lu Heming, come see me when the red of China has spread everywhere."

"It's a pity. I doubt this year's snow will reach Shanghai."

--What I mean is, I won't live long enough to see you again.
