Shi Weian is a newly adult sea star spirit. His body is pale blue and slightly translucent, with a soft, springy texture. His kind has always lived in the deep sea.
But he's an odd one out. Even after reaching adulthood, he still can't take human form. He thought he'd never get a wife in his life and spent every day crying, until his grandmother told him that his grandfather had arranged a childhood betrothal for him.
Overjoyed at the news, Shi Weian packed a little backpack full of deep-sea specialties that very day and set off to find his wife. He never wanted to be mocked by his kin on the ocean floor again.
.
Nervously, he knocked on his wife's door. When it opened, he put on what he thought was his sweetest smile. "Wife, it's me!"
But the person inside looked irritated at being woken up, glanced down at him, then slammed the door in his face.
.
Once fully awake, Chi Li rubbed his temples, recalling that he'd seemed to have a strange dream that morning. In it, some reckless monster had actually confessed to him.
After getting ready, he was about to head to work at the Bureau of Demon Affairs when he opened the door and found a blue, unidentified object sprawled outside, with water all around it.
He was horrified. "Did you pee outside my door?!"
Shi Weian, who had been crying uncontrollably, let out a loud wail at those words.
.
Some time later.
Now able to take human form, Shi Weian happily showed off his transformation to his wife.
Chi Li stared in shock at the tall man in front of him, who was a whole size bigger than he was. "Why are you so big?"
Who knew that this little crybaby would turn out so tall? He's taller than me!
The little sea star tilted his head in confusion. "Isn't bigger better?"
