My Honest, Down-to-Earth Husband

[My husband is too shy to cuddle with me in broad daylight. What do I do?]

Mu Xu transmigrated and became an idiot, and unexpectedly got himself a husband.

His husband had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a round rear. His features were rugged yet handsome, and his healthy wheat-colored skin and muscles were sexy.

Who could resist that?

.

Chen Ning rescued an idiot from the river. Unfortunately, someone from the village saw them clinging to each other in broad daylight and accused him of shameless behavior. To protect the village's reputation, the clan elders pressured them into marriage.

Chen Ning had thought that although the man was disheveled and dim-witted, now that they were getting married, he would take care of him from then on.

But just after they had bowed to heaven and earth, the man suddenly stopped acting like an idiot. And when Mu Xu had washed up, his handsome, refined face and bright, expressive eyes made Chen Ning feel painfully inadequate.

Chen Ning stood awkwardly by the door, head bowed as he looked at the rough hands he'd gotten from farmwork. How could someone like him ever be worthy of such a refined young gentleman?

He had planned to let Mu Xu go if he wanted to leave, but then he heard an enthusiastic call.

Mu Xu washed up, climbed into bed, and scooted over. He gazed at Chen Ning by the door with burning eyes and slapped the bed like a seal. "Husband, what are you waiting for? Come on, get in bed! Hurry, hurry!"

Chen Ning: ...?

.

Everyone said poor Brother Ning had a hard life. His parents died when he was young, he was big and burly, and he was still unmarried in his late twenties.

When he finally did get married, it was to some idiot from who-knows-where.

The villagers offered their insincere sympathy. "Oh, poor Brother Ning, what a miserable life. I saw him chopping wood on the mountain yesterday, and he had to bring that idiot along. That's no husband, he's practically raising a spoiled lord!"

Before long, the Brother Ning they'd all "pitied" bought land, built a new house, and even opened a countryside guesthouse!

And the handsome young gentleman who was even prettier than the best-looking young man in their village, and always at his side? He was the idiot!

.

"Husband~~"

Mu Xu wrapped his arms around Chen Ning from behind as he cleared away the dishes, feeling the muscles in his body tense beneath his hands.

"I wrote a new story. Let me read it to you and see what you think~"

Chen Ning's ears turned red. He murmured, "I can't read, and it's not even dark yet."

"That's okay, I'll read it to you~ I'm really just reading you a story~"

It wasn't long before Chen Ning realized his mistake. Flushing bright red, he stammered, "A-are you going to sell it? This, this kind of story?"

Mu Xu kept playing with his husband's hand. "Of course not. This kind of story is only for you. Do you like it? I've got other kinds, too. I'll read them to you every day from now on~"

Chen Ning: ...!
