Still Don't Know I'm an Anomaly

Wen Lai transmigrated into another world.

Here, transcendent powerhouses soar through the skies and tunnel beneath the earth, while eerie creatures spread corruption. Everything people knew in the old world is useless now. The motto is simple: "If you're alive, that's a success."

But Wen Lai quickly found her footing. She got a job as a cleaner at the official Special Affairs Bureau, and even received a dorm room with a garden right outside the window!

The only thing that bothered her was that her roommates were all strange and none of them liked to talk.

One day, while Wen Lai was out, her roommates crowded into the attic for a meeting.

One-Eyed Cat Demon: "Did you see what she hung on the Christmas tree last night? Those were the eyes of a hellhound."

Bloodthirsty Siren: "I couldn't help singing a couple of lines last night. She came over to knock and warn me in less than a minute! I swear, for one second I saw my great-grandmother."

Headless Doll: "I'm a doll, and she keeps inviting me over for duck ghost vermicelli soup. Who has it worse than me?"

After the annual inspection, the Special Affairs Bureau's council received a chilling report.

The Wucheng branch was suspected of having been infiltrated by an anomaly. Everyone, from the bureau chief to the support staff, had suffered mental corruption that was nearly impossible to remove. Strangely, however, the anomaly believed itself to be an ordinary human and showed no signs of hostility.

After a heated debate, the council decided to respond to the situation without making waves. They would do their best to meet "Its" material and emotional needs, maintain "Its" belief that it was "human," and make effective use of "Its" abilities when the time was right.

Three days later, the Special Affairs Bureau forum posted a bizarre employee handbook.

1) Remember that you are human, and so are all your colleagues. There are no exceptions.

2) A heartbeat and breathing are not the criteria for deciding whether someone is human.

3) The Special Affairs Bureau follows the principle of "employees first." Whatever your needs may be, you can contact the council directly by email.

Everyone at the Special Affairs Bureau: ???
