[Post-Apocalyptic Survival] [Offer It Up from the Start] [National Destiny]
A zombie virus sweeps across the globe, and a small number of people awaken supernatural abilities.
Strength-type ability users punch zombies to death, while healing-type powerhouses save lives. Lu Shisang, however, has the ability to open portals to anywhere.
The first time she opens a portal, she finds a vast ocean on the other side.
The second time, she finds a shadowy forest filled with howling wolves and eerie cries.
So, um, did she sign up for some kind of wilderness survival package?
Fortunately, the third time she opens a portal, she finds people! An old man with his hair pinned up by a wooden hairpin, dressed in a wide-sleeved robe, is standing in a rice paddy taller than she is. Uh, is he casting a spell?
Where on earth have I ended up?
Is this even still in China?!
Oh, turns out it isn't. This place is actually an ancient fantasy dynasty!
Wei Shicheng, mayor of Maocheng, has been so worried lately that he's nearly pulled out all his hair.
Zombies roam the city, leaving nearly a million residents trapped in their homes. There are far too few people with supernatural abilities, and some of them are taking advantage of the chaos to rob others.
Worse still, every kind of supply has run out. Grain, cooking oil, rice, flour, medicine, medical equipment, hygiene products, protective gear, and weapons are all in desperately short supply.
What is he supposed to do?
Does he really have to tell the residents that the authorities can do nothing more, and that they should fend for themselves?
As he ponders this, someone knocks on his office door. A young woman walks in.
She says, "Chief, I've found a place! It's piled high with rice, meat, fruits, and vegetables, and everyone can learn mystical arts there!"
Wei Shicheng: ?
Has the pressure of survival really driven the kids insane?
But the next moment, the young woman pulls out a potato the size of a basketball.
"Just try it yourself, and you'll see."
Wei Shicheng: ?!!
At first, everyone thought the zombie crisis would wipe out most of humanity, and that only those who'd won the genetic lottery by gaining supernatural abilities would survive to the end. No one would care whether anyone else lived or died. Human life would be worth less than a mouthful of water.
But China showed its people and the world through its actions:
The nation will not abandon a single city or a single person. A brief period of darkness cannot stop the sun from rising. United, we will eventually welcome the warmth of spring and the blossoming of flowers!
