It's Hard Being an Older Brother

I have two younger brothers, one by birth and one I found. Our parents died early, so I raised them on my own and tried to treat them as equally as I could.

My biological brother is lively and sweet, with an innocent disposition. When he gets into trouble, he hides behind me and tugs at my sleeve, pleading pitifully for my forgiveness. When I come home late at night, he leaves a light on and nestles against me, saying, "Big brother, you've worked so hard. I'll earn money to support you someday."

The brother I found was wary from a young age, suspicious and gloomy. I felt sorry for the psychological wounds left by his parents abandoning him, so I gave him extra care and affection, repeatedly assuring him that I would never leave him.

As we spent more time together, he became extremely dependent on me and clingy. Unbeknownst to me, he also threatened and drove away the people around me. By the time I realized what was happening, he was the only close person left by my side...

The rift between my biological brother and me had long since become bottomless. His personality had changed drastically, and he was ill. He was deeply hostile toward the brother I'd found. But we were bound by blood, after all. We shared the same blood.

I felt guilty and miserable, believing I'd wronged and neglected him. To treat his illness and mend our relationship, I went back on my promise and cruelly abandoned the brother I'd found, never imagining we would meet again.

When we met again, the brother I remembered had changed completely. He held a dagger to my throat, blood dripping down the blade.

He gritted his teeth and called me a liar, cursing me to die a horrible death. His eyes were filled with bone-deep hatred. Yet late at night, he would quietly crawl into my bed, lick the wound on my neck, and press his bloodstained lips against mine to stop the words I was about to say...
