I'm an Archivist, Part-Time Villainous Boss and Righteous Leader

Ji Li arrived in an examination world, only for the System to tell her that a glitch in the process of transmitting consciousness had caused everyone except her to lose consciousness.

Ji Li, cautiously: “Does that mean I'm the only one taking the exam this time?”

System: “No. It means your classmates and this world are waiting for you to save them.”

The world's original course of fate was utterly shattered by this accident. It had been on the verge of its most violent purge, and the arrival of Ji Li and the others had brought that process forward by fifty years.

The moment they entered this world, her unconscious companions were assimilated by its rules. The corruption of their minds formed the most terrifying source of pollution, spreading across the endless wilderness like a plague.

In the future that had once been set, humanity had fifty years to struggle through disaster, evolve, and finally learn to coexist. But the vast, ocean-like souls from another world were a poison far beyond what this world could bear.

The corruption from beyond nourished the world's own madness, driving it into the abyss of despair ahead of schedule.

“So your mission has two parts. First, gather the scattered sources of consciousness, awaken them from their corrupted state, seal them, and send them out of this world. Second, on these ruins, nurture strong people for human civilization and build its final wall.”

Ji Li was silent for a moment, then slowly said, “There's something I'd like to say, but I'm not sure I should...”
