Lin Yu always believed that her childhood friend had been killed by a demon. She spent years studying hard, all so she could avenge her.

Until she met Shi Xi.

Shi Xi had little spiritual power and a wandering mind, but at least she came through when it mattered.

Lin Yu accepted her invitation to travel and train together. Shi Xi promised that if Lin Yu helped her with one thing, she would tell her what had become of her friend.

Only after completing the favor did Lin Yu realize she had saved a demon.

As the senior disciple of the immortal sect, Lin Yu held fast to her duty to vanquish evil. When she learned the truth, she turned on Shi Xi with murderous fury.
