For the Sake of Ascension

Su Ruoruo transmigrated into a tragic cultivation novel called Phoenix.

The male lead was the Immortal Realm's greatest god of slaughter, sent down to undergo a trial. She was one of his ill-fated entanglements in the mortal world.

The original female lead cultivated the Heartless Dao. To ascend, she let herself become immersed in love with the male lead, then, at the final moment, killed her husband to prove her Dao and successfully ascended.

But after the female lead got her wish and ascended, she discovered that the male lead had ascended too, in a spectacular, flashy Nirvana rebirth as a phoenix. The moment he returned, he reclaimed his place as the Immortal Realm's most feared god of slaughter.

The angst was too much to fix, so the author simply gave the female lead a tragic ending.

Su Ruoruo, now in the female lead's body: QAQ.

Before ascension, in the cultivation world:

A female lead who acts heartless but is actually panicking inside x a male lead who falls to demonic cultivation and ascends after being abandoned

After ascension, in the Immortal Realm:

The Immortal Realm's greatest god of slaughter x a newly ascended young immortal
