A Gentle Touch in the Palm

Because of her striking beauty, Su Yingying caught the eye of the lecherous Second Master, who wanted to ask the Old Madam to give her to him as a concubine.

The Old Madam was biased. Whatever the Second Master asked for, she always granted.

To avoid the fate of becoming an old man's concubine, Su Yingying turned her attention to the one man in the Duke's residence who could stand up to the Old Madam's authority: Lu Jingsheng, the Duke's only son.

She had picked her target, but the young lord was always aloof and distant, with no interest in women. He was the very picture of an unattainable beauty on a high peak, and one day he was sure to marry a well-matched woman who would enter through the front gate and become the new mistress of the Duke's residence.

Su Yingying wasn't greedy enough to want to become Lu Jingsheng's wife. She only needed his protection. Once she had saved enough money to buy her freedom, she would never stand in the way of this noble young master's happy marriage.

Lu Jingsheng kept a young maidservant. She was beautiful, slender, and knew how to please him. He was quite satisfied with her, and thought that one day he could promote her to concubine.

But not long after he became engaged to the daughter of a distinguished family, the maidservant ran away.
