Also known as: Phoenix Scorches the Bones
[Flirtatious beauty, maxed-out combat power, shou x aloof beauty, fiercely protective widower, gong]
Prologue:
The cultivation world has enjoyed a hundred years of peace, free from hardship or disaster.
All thanks to me.
Because I finally died.
1.
The cultivation world has a ranking titled: The Person You Most Want to Die Without a Burial.
At the very top, by a mile, is the name of Fengxiao, the Phoenix Progenitor, who has held the number one spot for ages.
One day, word suddenly spread that his soul and spirit had been destroyed.
As for the cause of death?
Nobody cared. The entire cultivation world celebrated, praising the heavens for finally taking away this wicked demon, whose crimes had piled up to the sky.
2.
A hundred years later, a dark horse appeared at the Immortal Alliance Assembly. Few disciples had ever seen him at any sect, but there was no denying that he was outrageously powerful!
Armed with nothing but a chipped iron sword, he dared to venture alone into the twelve-story Demon King Tower. Everyone admired his determination to get himself killed.
To their amazement, he not only came out unscathed, he even carried the head of the tower's Demon King!
"Master, it took me a lot of effort to kill it. Don't you think I deserve a reward?"
Everyone turned in unison to look at the person at the end of Fengxiao's gaze: Sage Immortal Xiyao.
So he was Xiyao's disciple! No wonder.
The elders, who had looked down on him moments ago, changed their tune and prepared to learn how Xiyao had trained such a prodigy.
Sure enough, Xiyao said, "Anything you want. Your master will grant it all."
So generous. (Taking notes.)
Everyone guessed that Fengxiao would ask for a high-grade magical artifact or a top-tier divine sword. Instead...
"Kiss me."
Silence.
The elders all dropped their brushes. How could he be so outrageously disrespectful?! Heaven, are you just going to stand by and watch? Hurry up and strike this wicked disciple into a charred corpse!
But the sky remained clear, and Heaven turned a deaf ear.
They didn't get a charred corpse. Instead, they got...
Sage Immortal Xiyao, he, he, he...
Really kissed him!!!
A few reading tips:
1. Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Spirit Transformation, Great Ascension, Tribulation Transcendence, Sage Immortal, and Progenitor. The Progenitor realm cannot be reached through cultivation; it arises from the gathering of spiritual energy at the beginning of the world, and only a few beings have attained it. Both protagonists are powerful from start to finish.
2. My take on cultivation, not traditional xianxia.
3. A little ensemble cast. Apart, they're invincible; together, they're a puddle of mud.
4. Contains original worldbuilding. The setting is fictional and unrelated to reality.
5. Split-piece gong, who will merge back together.
6. The gong and shou are wildly in love with each other, and both are pure and inexperienced. Extreme fans of either side, please don't read.
7. Contains melodrama and amnesia. The melodrama includes, but isn't limited to: You hated me when I loved you, and only after you died did I realize I loved you desperately.
8. Both the shou and the gong are beauties.
Theme: Let feelings that cannot be severed take their course
