Wen Yishu was a research scientist at a company, sent on an official business trip with a group of big shots to an island near the neighboring city.

She never imagined the apocalypse would arrive so suddenly. Just days after they landed, plants and animals around the world began to mutate, and humans changed too, becoming monsters fused with animals.

She was stranded on the vast island, with danger lurking in the surrounding waters and no possibility of ever returning to the mainland.

The island was rife with danger and short on food. Giant plants burst through concrete and steel, mutated flora and fauna were unusually vicious, and extreme cold and heat, insect plagues, and exotic beasts arrived one after another.

Countless people died, and countless others mutated. Wen Yishu's body began to change, too.

At the moment she suffered a high fever and convulsions, believing she was as good as dead, she heard arguing outside her door.

The department head, usually so amiable, wanted to study the human body and dissect her alive before she could mutate.

But Bai Mi, the team leader who had always treated her with cold indifference, stood firmly in the doorway to stop him.

Just before the department head broke in, Wen Yishu awakened an ability.

Synopsis:

The first second Song Weishi transmigrated into a doomsday novel, the System showed her the obvious way out: die.

The original character was a standard cannon-fodder saintly heroine: weak and a burden. In the original, she was killed with a single stab in the very first chapter, when a companion betrayed her to win someone's trust.

The death-escape System was useless, too. When life and death were on the line, all it could do was gently persuade her: “Host, just die and you'll get a new map!”

Song Weishi moved swiftly, cutting down her enemies. “Stop rushing me.”

Her companions betrayed her: dead.

Her boss exploited her: dead.

Anyone who tried to guilt-trip her was sent straight to the afterlife.
