After Sharing Dreams With the Gloomy Tyrant

At a military clinic on the border, Jiang Xinyi walks on eggshells to keep her secret: she is a woman disguised as a man.

She has little to do with the ruthless and bloodthirsty Prince Beichen, who commands the troops guarding the border.

But after he saves her from an icy lake, she often dreams of him.

The cold and passionless Lord Yama is surprisingly gentle in her dreams. “Don't be afraid. I won't really eat you.”

When their passion peaks, he bends to kiss the tears from the corners of her eyes. Their foreheads touch, their gazes burning.

By day, though, he remains the lofty prince, and hardly gives her a second glance.

Jiang Xinyi is all the more at ease. Every day, she braves the wind and snow to do everything she can to treat the wounded soldiers.

Until one day after she returns to the capital, she is punished by being made to kneel in the imperial garden. Dazed from standing in the rain, she falls into a familiar, icy embrace.

Jiang Xinyi instinctively tries to pull away, but uses her own strength to straighten up on her knees.

The man tilts his paper umbrella. Its tassel brushes carelessly against her ear. “Why panic? It's hardly the first time you've gone weak in my arms.”

Before long, Prince Beichen ascends the throne and launches a sweeping purge of the Eastern Palace's former faction.

The whole court lives in fear, but Imperial Physician Jiang is granted permission to resign and return to her hometown, thanks to the small favor she earned while serving at the border. The other officials are all envious.

Little do they know that inside a steaming hot spring, a beauty in a gauzy white dress is backed against the pool, with nowhere left to retreat.

“You said I'd only have to attend on Your Majesty for half a month. This is already the third half-month. When exactly will Your Majesty let me leave the capital?”

The man grips her waist and pins her onto his lap. He leans down and kisses her fiercely. “When I'm dead!”

1. He is 28 and she is 18, with a 20-unit height difference. One-on-one romance, both leads pure, happy ending.

2. A modern female doctor transmigrates into a fictional feudal dynasty. The worldbuilding is entirely made up!

3. Romance is the focus, with medicine and investigations as supporting elements. Neither lead is perfect.
