The Bright Moon Rests in My Embrace

Xie Mingshu was born into a distinguished family, and her beauty was unmatched in the capital.

Everyone knew that the radiant jewel of the Duke of Qi's household was destined to marry into the Eastern Palace and one day become empress.

But against all expectations, when Xie Mingshu married, she defied her family's wishes and insisted on marrying Shen Zhu, the new second-place palace graduate from a humble family.

Everyone sighed, convinced that the bright moon had fallen into the mortal world and would regret it sooner or later.

But later, the Eastern Palace fell, and the defeated Crown Prince took his own life. The Duke of Qi's household lost its power and suffered under the new dynasty.

Meanwhile, Shen Zhu earned the favor of two generations of emperors, rose steadily through the ranks, and became the youngest grand secretary in the court.

Everyone said that Miss Xie had a keen eye for talent and that she and her husband were deeply in love and trusted one another completely.

Her family had been framed, but no one knew. In the new emperor's bedchamber, Xie Mingshu knelt before him, her skirt spread like a flower.

The new emperor looked at her with a half-smile. "Shouldn't you be asking that husband of yours, the one with whom you share such perfect harmony?"

Pei Yan had a bright moon in his heart, and willingly bent the knee for her.

But alas, the moon was tarnished. In that case, naturally he would bring her back to the palace and cherish her.
