Synopsis
Xue Ning is a forensic examiner who transmigrates into a redemption novel as the vicious supporting female character who shares her name.
In her original life, her father and brothers all died in battle. An orphan with no one to rely on, she was sent to the Ningchuan Marquis Manor, where everyone doted on her.
In the book, the female character is beautiful as a Bodhisattva but has a heart as wicked as a snake's. Relying on her family's reputation for loyalty and righteousness, and the fact that her parents are dead, she pretends to be weak and clings to the male lead.
In private, she is cruel and ruthless. She kills the male lead's first love, but uses her status to escape punishment. In the end, the male lead turns dark and takes revenge on her, leaving her to die horribly.
Only after the male lead meets the female lead is he redeemed.
Xue Ning shudders and decides to stay away from the male lead, put her professional knowledge to use, and keep her head down to survive.
Then an incident occurs. The male lead's first love still dies a terrible death, and the male lead stands nearby, glaring at her with venomous hatred. The original ending beckons.
Then she hears:
[That wretched woman deserved to die!]
Xue Ning: !!!
No one else can hear it. It is the killer's inner voice.
With the answer known before she even starts solving the case, Xue Ning successfully identifies the real culprit, shocking everyone in the manor.
Shen Yan, a young official in the Court of Judicial Review, comes from a distinguished family. In the prime of his youth, he is talented and accomplished. After witnessing Xue Ning's abilities, he asks her to help investigate cases.
The orphan from the Xue family has a terrible reputation, with all sorts of monstrous rumors spread about her. Everyone avoids her.
But when they are trapped and falsely accused, whether commoners or powerful aristocrats, all anxiously hope Xue Ning will save them.
They hope Xue Ning will see them through, and she always reaches out a hand.
Xue Ning gradually becomes famous throughout the capital for her skill at solving cases, and even the imperial palace rewards her generously.
Pei Wuji is an old friend of Shen Yan's, one of his dissolute companions. At first, he is simply indignant on Shen Yan's behalf. The Shen family actually wants to arrange a match between Shen Yan and Xue Ning, and Pei Wuji does not want his friend to marry a woman with such a scandalous reputation. But Shen Yan thinks highly of Xue Ning, which makes Pei Wuji deeply displeased.
He cannot help paying more attention to Xue Ning.
The young woman before him is beautiful as a Bodhisattva. Her appearance stands in stark contrast to the filthy, foul-smelling corpse before her, yet she examines it without the slightest hesitation.
Pei Wuji also discovers that a gloomy creep has already latched onto Xue Ning.
And that gloomy creep is his old rival!
An alternate setting. No need to nitpick the historical details.
Coming soon: The Young Physician of the Outer City of the Capital
Updates before nine every day
Lin Weishu is seventeen. After her family fell on hard times when she was young, her father died early, and she moved to the outer city with her mother.
While her father was alive, she almost became engaged to Xuan Ying, the second son of the Yong'an Marquis Manor. Now their status is far too different, and there has been no further news.
After spring began this year, Lin Weishu started studying medicine under Madam Xin.
Madam Xin is no ordinary female physician. Xin Huai once organized efforts to treat an epidemic in Jiangnan, saving countless lives. The court rewarded her by granting her the title of County Lady. She is also close friends with the Princess Consort of Prince Cheng, knows many noblewomen, and is regarded as a living Buddha by thousands for helping those in need in the capital. Even officials known for their integrity praise her highly.
With such a reputation and connections, learning some medicine from her, even without being formally named her disciple, could bring reflected glory and help secure a future and a good marriage.
But Madam Xin seems to have been born without a love of smiling, and is not easy to approach.
Lin Weishu learns excellent medical skills, and not only uses them to heal the living. She also gets involved in examining corpses and investigating cases from time to time. She only hopes Madam Xin never finds out, and harbors no other ambitions.
Unexpectedly, Madam Xin wants to take her as a disciple. Then, after Lin Weishu solves two cases in a row, Miss Lin gradually becomes famous throughout the capital.
When Lin Weishu lives in the outer city, a young master from the Duke's estate, Shen You, moves in next door.
Shen You was frail as a child and was sent to a temple by his family. His nature is gentle and mild.
When Lin Weishu meets him, he has gone deaf in both ears while saving his mother, yet his relatives shun him in return. He is truly pitiable.
The eldest young master Shen is handsome and has a wonderful temperament.
As they grow closer, Shen You cares for her in every possible way. He checks on her, keeps her company while she investigates cases, and looks after her attentively whenever she falls ill.
Even when Lin Weishu has her period, he thoughtfully brings her a hot water bottle to warm her abdomen.
Lin Weishu blushes with embarrassment, yet cannot help developing feelings for Shen You.
She is perceptive, and senses that Shen You may feel something for her too. She is quite sure their feelings could be mutual.
Who could have guessed that when she takes the initiative and confesses her feelings, Shen You would reject her, leaving them both in an extremely awkward situation.
Afterward, she realizes that Shen You is not what he seems. His nature is not as kind, gentle, and humorous as it appears. In private, he is sinister and ruthless, merely skilled at putting on an act.
Lin Weishu's feelings fade. She keeps her distance in secret, intent on growing apart from him.
Shen You senses it too. Like a venomous snake raised in a damp, hidden channel, he seems to become a completely different person.
"Miss Lin, didn't you say you had feelings for me? Do you still feel the same?"
His voice is gentle, but a scorching light glimmers in his shadowy, inscrutable eyes.
It is as if he cannot bear to hear Lin Weishu say no.
Lin Weishu's temper flares, and she snaps, "No!"
Shen You freezes. He is clearly losing control, panic rising in him. "No?"
Shen You, the legitimate grandson of the Duke of Wei, is handsome and renowned for his benevolent, gentle nature. Secretly, he is the leader of the Secret Eye, and is highly valued by the new emperor. In private, however, Shen You is a vile demon with nothing but a beautiful shell. He feeds on the greed and wicked desires of others, playing with their hearts to nourish his empty, pale soul.
He enjoys manipulating people and collecting their secrets. If he wishes, any court noble or upright senior official is no more than a puppet in his palm, tugged by invisible strings and made to dance as he pleases.
At first, all he wanted was to entice Lin Weishu into becoming another useful tool.
Even when Lin Weishu took the initiative and confessed her feelings, it was merely an unexpected turn of events that he did not need to accept.
Yet he was secretly delighted, as if an electric current had run from the tips of his hair to his toes.
Then he began to regret it, seriously considering how he could make Lin Weishu change her mind.
In a dark, damp place, a bright flower blooms.
Hypocritical, gloomy male ghost x pretty, clever young woman
The romance is the focus of the blurb; the story itself includes case investigations.
Theme: Work hard to win the happiness you want.
It's been a week since it was finished, and I've read the last chapter back and forth many times. Haha, I hate my wife. The last chapter is too short, but I think it's full of sugar.
I think the extras actually complete the understanding of the characters of the three main characters. The text mainly focuses on and exciting the case, but I also really like the tit-for-tat tension between Xue Ning and Pei Wuji, especially the collision of values when discussing cases and crimes (whether it's Pei's aunt's story, Pei Yan's actions, Pei Wuji's actions that led to the Zhao Xin incident, or Xue Ning's inner questioning). I know that Yue Zhiduoduo has a feeling of pure disgust, but we can also see from the main story (he cried) and the details in the extra story that he also has some human fragility when pursuing emotions. Many people think that Yue Zhi is similar to another character in the wife's story, Baili, but I have never felt that, except that the two of them are a bit similar to the drama queen in Green Tea, but I still feel that the presentation is very different. Yue Zhi is more evil and selfish in nature. I think Baili is not like this. Is he derived from his situation?
At that time, I mistakenly thought that my wife would open up another possible world where Yue Zhi and Xue Ning's relationship blossomed. I was determined not to watch it, but then I couldn't help it, and wanted to say something about it, but it didn't work out, and I felt that I would return to what I thought was the most "reasonable" development. I think it's because the basic values of the two are very different. I don't think Xue Ning can accept it if the actual appearance is fully revealed (but they must be able to get along with each other in terms of their personality, otherwise they will not have the affection to get along with them in the beginning).
Of the whole story, I like the case of Li Ying the most, especially the relationship between mother and son of the Li family, which led to the bizarre twists and turns of the case. I think it is very real. This also compares with the mother-son relationship between Shen Yan and Shen's mother in the next case, and how Shen Yan came out in the end. The summary of the last paragraph of Chapter 107 is my favorite paragraph. But in this case, regarding Liu Huan, I am very partial to Pei Wuji's approach!
And from the wife's context, Shen Yan's inner feelings and thoughts towards Liu Huan are difficult to understand but difficult to accept as a reader? In addition to Shen Yan's work status, another reason is that he feels too easily moved by himself? Or what? It's hard for me to describe his feelings for Liu Huan. He knew that she was like this but still insisted on accompanying her. Was it a self-moved redemption that he thought could make a difference? Or is it because of the partiality of his mother in the family, even though he is not inferior to Shen Zhou, he is suppressed in the family, which leads to this kind of character? Longing for the emotions you couldn't get in the past, but stubbornly refusing to let go? I think that on some level, his character flaws are probably as dangerous as those of Pei Wuji and Yue Zhi. But looking back, I feel that Shen Yan, as well as all the characters in this story, have profoundly described the complexity of human nature, including selfishness, sacrifice, arrogance, cowardice, kindness or pure evil. The whole case is revealed step by step. It is surprising every time, but at the same time, I feel that indeed, it is very consistent with human nature [covering face and laughing]
Hahaha, raising a baby is so tiring, Xiao Shen: Long live I am unmarried and single.
I feel so sorry for Wei Huai's extra ending. The good young boy has such an ending. Is he finally free? I don't know what his family's fault was that made him like this, and he was picked on for his sister.
Xue Ning was kind and finally settled Wei Huai's concerns.
But Pei Wuji's character of "evil wants to kill him" is really easy to make things "too much", the word "caution" is really contradictory haha
But in this chapter, Pei Wuji said it was funny that Xue Ning couldn't argue because of her loud voice. Of course you can't argue. My wife is always the truth, haha. But this also reminds me of a common post-marriage scene in urban life. Sometimes when a wife is angry with her husband for being disobedient, she may twist his ears and teach him a lesson, hahaha, although Xue Ning probably won't~ [laughing and crying]
Why is Yue Zhi so funny?
Every time I watch the last part, I feel inexplicably happy...
The reason why A Ning believed it was because she understood human nature, and she knew that from the story Yue Zhi told, even if the details were incomplete and the emotions were exaggerated, if it could indeed raise such a Yue Zhi, then it must be true. Yue Zhi also understands human nature, but if he uses this skill to make a sneak attack, he will naturally not be able to defeat A Ning hhh
Xiao Yue, I feel like I prefer to see him crawling in darkness while being unable to fall in love (knocking on wooden fish wildly)
It would be terrible if Xiao Pei acted coquettishly and was soft-hearted [dog head]
What a Pei if who accidentally stepped over the boundary... Ah Ning, Shen Yan, Lingchang, you have to tighten his reins...
Yue Zhiduoduo was on the way to adding fuel to the fire hahahaha, I loved seeing Pei Wuji deflated in front of him hahahahaha, after they saw each other again, Pei Wuji deliberately teased Xue Ning and coaxed her with sugar, it was really interesting! There is no description of this aspect in the main text of the two, so I thought it was novel and interesting! But it's stuck here! Xiao Pei is in jail, will Xue Ning bring the truth? I think I really like the extra line, which highlights the emotional tension and values between the two! !
[Orange Candy] I have a regret after reading the text. The evil man Changsun Zhao did not know the truth before he died. He is so evil, he should also know the secret of Empress Pei, because that identity has always been something he is proud of. Knowing the truth only makes him feel the pain in his heart [Cracked]
