This novel is complete. Please check out my upcoming story in the same genre, The Coroner Hears the Murderers' Thoughts. Its blurb is at the bottom.
Xie Bingrou was born into the Xie family of the capital and had a winning hand from the start.
Her fiancé, Wei Xuan, was the cold and alluring ideal man in the hearts of countless women in the capital.
Then Xie Bingrou dumped him.
When she saw Wei Xuan again, she was dragging a corpse she needed to examine out of the mud, covered in filth and in no state to meet her former fiancé.
By then, Wei Xuan held absolute power and dominated the court. He was no longer the beautiful, tragic young man who had returned after his family endured hardship and disaster.
The ordinary man who had fallen into the dust had become a god once more.
He went on to crush the Xie family for tearing up the marriage contract, even sending Xie Bingrou's cousin, Xie Linghua, the family's most brilliant jewel, to prison.
Xie Bingrou: Hi~
If I'm not embarrassed, then everyone else is.
Xie Bingrou: So, are you going to give me a hand or not?
Two schemers
A gentle, scheming white lotus heroine X a deep, scheming powerful official
A few things to know:
1. A fictional setting, with a mix of historical elements. Please don't nitpick.
2. The plot unfolds alongside the mysteries, with the romance developing gradually. The leads' relationship starts slow, with more romance in the middle and later parts.
3. The heroine genuinely loves someone else at first, then comes to genuinely love the hero. The hero only loves her. He isn't perfect, and he goes a little crazy for a while.

Xue Ning is a forensic doctor who wakes up in a redemption novel as the vicious villainess who shares her name.
Her father and brothers died in battle, leaving her an orphan. She was sent to the Marquis of Ningchuan's residence, where the entire household doted on her.
In the novel, the villainess was beautiful as a bodhisattva but wicked as a snake. Relying on her status as the daughter of a loyal family, and the fact that her parents were dead, she pretended to be weak and clung to the hero.
In private, she was ruthless. She killed the hero's first love, but used her status to escape punishment. In the end, the hero turned dark and took revenge, leaving her to die horribly.
Only after meeting the heroine was the hero redeemed.
Xue Ning shuddered and decided to stay away from the hero, brush up on her professional knowledge, and do everything she could to stay alive.
Then an incident occurred. The hero's first love still died tragically, while the hero glared at Xue Ning with dark, venomous eyes. The original ending was beckoning.
Then she heard:
[That bitch deserved to die!]
Xue Ning: !!!
No one else could hear it. Those were the killer's thoughts.
With the answer in hand before solving the puzzle, Xue Ning quickly found the real culprit, astonishing the entire household.
Shen Yan, a junior official at the Court of Judicial Review, came from a distinguished family. In the prime of his youth and already accomplished, he saw Xue Ning's abilities and asked her to help investigate cases.
The orphaned Xue family's young lady had a terrible reputation, and rumors about her had been twisted into all manner of monstrous tales. Everyone avoided her.
But when they were trapped in a legal quagmire and falsely accused, commoners and noble families alike anxiously hoped Xue Ning would save them.
They hoped Xue Ning would see them through, and she always reached out a hand.
Xue Ning gradually made a name for herself in the capital as a gifted investigator, even receiving many rewards from the palace.
Pei Wuji was a close friend of Shen Yan's, one of his rowdy companions. At first, he only felt indignant on Shen Yan's behalf. The Shen family wanted to arrange a marriage between Shen Yan and Xue Ning, and he didn't want his friend marrying a woman with such a scandalous reputation. But Shen Yan thought highly of Xue Ning, which greatly displeased Pei Wuji.
He couldn't help paying more attention to her.
The young woman before him was beautiful as a bodhisattva, a striking contrast to the filthy, stinking corpse in front of her. Yet she examined it without the slightest hesitation.
Pei Wuji also discovered that a dark and twisted man had already latched on to Xue Ning.
And that twisted man was his old nemesis!
Theme: Change your fate through your own efforts
I particularly like this article, and the structure is also very interesting. There are a lot of pits buried at the beginning, and they are filled in one by one at the end.
I feel that the problem with the unsatisfactory performance still lies in chapters 9-18. There are too many characters appearing at once, and many characters are given a certain amount of introduction + psychological description, which leads to the abnormally slow progress of the main plot in the early stage. I almost couldn't watch it anymore, so I patiently forced myself to watch it. After getting through 20 chapters, I realized that the characters who were given descriptions of psychological activities were not economical. The psychological descriptions were deliberate introductions, especially the Yuanbi section, which was very interesting.
But the slow pace and the large concentration of characters there are indeed a bit discouraging.
As for the male characters, Wei Xuan is rebellious and Xiao Zhang is wild, but the most important thing is to be true and follow your heart.
Most of the other men are a bunch of duplicity, psychopathic, moody, and show-obsessed. They are simply crazy, which is particularly interesting.
And the author does not deliberately flaunt feminism or anything, but the female characters in this article are very tough, even the villain is like Shen, and the maid is like Ah Shao. As for the protagonist, he has always followed his heart and lived a very comfortable life.
I hope the author can bring more exciting works. It is an extremely pleasant reading experience!
This book is really well written, but its popularity is so low
As a killer, it would be too useless to die, but meeting the heroine before his death was a mercy of fate. It was really not worth it to do things for the eldest brother of the Nan family. . .
The men in this article are really crazier than the last. This article has such a special temperament and is so beautiful! I can't stop.
Jiang Xuan: It's been a long time, and I'm a copywriter serving as a corpse. . .
Great, when I read the last chapter, I was still thinking about just supporting the princess. Anyway, she is already rebellious enough...
In fact, it is best for Empress Yuan to think about it, but she really loves her children and attaches great importance to blood (her love for her children is definitely not just love for the heir)... Although she doesn't like her in some places, she is really much better than the two children.
This article is a really good example of what it means not to be afraid of opponents who are like gods, but to be afraid of teammates who are like pigs.
The chase is over! To be honest, the pace is a bit slow at the beginning, but I can't stop trying to guess the murderer every time. The main reason is that several unit cases in this article have the feeling of "all villains". None of the supporting characters are just soy sauce, and almost all of them have their own character-specific plots. Then I really like the setting of the heroine. She is very smart and calm. She knows how to introspect but does not feel inferior. She is rational in seeking the truth and will not let go of anyone who adds fuel to the flames. Emotional is in being willing to abandon her principles for the sake of someone close to her being killed. One of my favorite sections is actually the part where the heroine "talks about death" Shen Wanlan. Shen Wanlan relies on the worldview she believes in to harm others, and eventually dies in the worldview she believes in. The heroine is really insightful into human nature.
It is suspected that Zhang Jue and Qin Sanlang, the two people Bingrou liked, were killed by Jiang Zao's behind-the-scenes game.
Suddenly I felt that the heroine was so miserable. She was surrounded by perverts, and her confidants and sweethearts all died miserably.
