Romance System, but with an Eerie Script [Infinite]

[Revising extensively because it doesn't feel right]

Ning Zhimiao transmigrated into the heroine of a campus romance novel, and every day she worked tirelessly to earn the male lead's favor.

After diligently doing so for quite some time, she suddenly realized that this world had overlapped with the author's other novels about strange and supernatural happenings.

And she was the weakest heroine the author had ever written.

In the other worlds, monsters ran rampant and slaughtered people, while the protagonists had Systems and could do anything.

But the main quest from her heroine System read: [Make the male lead fall for you within ten minutes while inside the mission area. His heart rate must increase by at least 10 BPM for it to count toward your points.]

Ning Zhimiao, being chased by a ghost: ?

That night, someone saw the usually pitiful Ning Zhimiao grabbing the school heartthrob You Wenwei by the back of his neck.

Not only did she head straight for wherever the ghosts were thickest, she even used the school heartthrob as a shield when danger struck.

You Wenwei: What the %&￥&!

Ning Zhimiao: Being scared by a ghost counts as an increased heart rate, doesn't it?

System: ...You're right about everything.

One day, the team of horror-novel protagonists, struggling to level up in one instance after another, stumbled upon a rulebook.

"Internal Staff Rules for the Strange Tales" (IMPORTANT: For internal circulation only)

1. Attack every human who enters the strange-tale world, and obtain as much human flesh and blood as possible. (Crossed out)

2. You must not eat or keep any of the flesh and blood you obtain. Hand it all over to Them. (Crossed out)

3. They are our masters. They will lead us to freedom. (Crossed out)

4. If you see a human named Ning Zhimiao, stay away immediately!! She is extremely aggressive. Do not approach her. Stay away immediately! (Crossed out)

5. Approach her.

6. She is our master. She will lead us to rebirth.

The protagonist team: ...Who?

-

* Contains many original interpretations, elements of rule-based supernatural horror, and slight horror.

* The heroine is the absolute focus, with a small ensemble cast.

* Plot-focused. The romance starts in the middle to later part of the story, and the male lead is somewhat of a tool character early on.

* The heroine doesn't take romance seriously. Please don't read if that bothers you.

Theme: Work hard at living, work hard at studying.
