Who Needs a Kiss to Stay Alive?

The structure was unclear while I was writing this, and after such a long hiatus, I’ve lost the momentum. So, I’m very sorry, but I won’t be continuing it. (hands together)

Sheng Yunmiao was hailed as an “angelic, ethereal beauty” as soon as he debuted. During the year or so when he was popular, he kept clashing with Yu Zhou over roles, business deals, and brand partnerships. After offending a major investor, all the IP rights he had been working on ended up in Yu Zhou’s hands.

Everyone in the industry knew they were bitter enemies. Their fans hated each other, and the scandals that had been dug up over the years were old news by now.

Then, at a red-carpet event, the long-forgotten has-been Sheng Yunmiao and the wildly popular Best Actor Yu Zhou appeared together as newlywed husbands.

Yu Zhou’s fans: Fake. Forget the fact that my brother is a Best Actor, he wouldn’t even be able to bring himself to kiss that face of Sheng Yunmiao’s.

Sheng Yunmiao’s fans: My boy finally made his comeback, only for Yu Zhou to steal the spotlight with a dirty trick like this. May Yu Zhou be struck by lightning!

But after footage from the backstage cameras came to light, everyone watched the two of them kissing passionately against the wall, and instantly lost all sense of reason.

.

On his first audition after coming back, Sheng Yunmiao accidentally turned into a ghost. He happened to run into Yu Zhou, who was trying to steal his role. In a fit of anger, he copied the hungry ghosts in TV dramas who suck out people’s life force and kissed him. Unexpectedly, Yu Zhou turned out to be a Taoist exorcist.

Sheng Yunmiao’s life was now in Yu Zhou’s hands, and the process of “anchoring his soul” required him to keep absorbing Yu Zhou’s yang energy.

Sheng Yunmiao threw caution to the wind. “It’s just kissing. What’s there to be afraid of? I’m a professional actor!”

In Yu Zhou’s eyes, Sheng Yunmiao was actually wonderful in every way. It was just that he always spoke with barbs. After they entered a marriage of convenience, Yu Zhou thought he’d finally found a chance to humble Sheng Yunmiao and his stubborn pride. But those lips... they were damnably sweet and soft.

One day, two weeks, three months...

Sheng Yunmiao’s ghostly form grew more and more stable. He gradually discovered that there were other ways to absorb energy faster and in greater quantities than through kissing. Yu Zhou, too, found a place on Sheng Yunmiao that was even softer than his lips...

In a dim corner backstage at a red-carpet event, Yu Zhou had lost count of how many times Sheng Yunmiao had tugged him closer by his tie. He pried apart their joined lips and let out a soft breath. “Mr. Sheng, you’re very skilled. What a shame the contract is almost up. Would you mind renewing it, ”

Sheng Yunmiao tipped his head up and silenced him with a kiss. “Less talk.”
