Ji Xun is a popular gaming streamer. After another streamer at his company maliciously piggybacks on his popularity and ships them as a couple, overnight he becomes the "devoted simp chasing after an aloof beauty."
After numerous futile attempts to clear things up, Ji Xun can't take it anymore. He posts a livestream announcement, promising to draw a random participant from the chat and find himself an online partner.
That night, a lucky viewer with the ID Ling Yeye is picked to join the stream. "Hello, simp. I'm a Samoyed."

Ling Ye is a Samoyed who has become a spirit. He gets flamed in games every day. He's terrible, but loves playing anyway, so he enters Ji Xun's stream to learn how to play better.
On screen, Ji Xun wears a mask, revealing only a pair of beautiful eyes. Ling Ye recognizes the streamer: the whole internet has been calling him a simp these past few days.
Samoyeds are dogs, and simps are dogs too. Ling Ye is a Samoyed who has become a spirit, so Ji Xun must be a simp who has become a spirit.
They're the same kind!
Having reached this conclusion, Ling Ye promptly signs up for the random draw to find an online partner, and walks away with a simp boyfriend.

Later, Ji Xun streams every day, gaming with his online partner and constantly flirting with him. No one brings up his "simp" history anymore. Instead, they all wave the "Xunye" ship flag.
Ji Xun gradually falls for him too. On his birthday, he invites Ling Ye over to celebrate and meet in person.
That night, tipsy and affectionate, Ling Ye tackles Ji Xun onto the sofa, then transforms into a Samoyed with a swish. "Can you turn into a simp? I want to snuggle tails with you."
Ji Xun stares in disbelief, holding the other man's fluffy dog head. "Do I look like someone who can turn into a simp?"
