A Gentleman of Noble Character

Nian Shilan & Songzhi

[An alternate-dynasty indulgence written just for fun. Don't nitpick.]

After losing favor, Nian Shilan went from the exalted Noble Consort Hua, personally appointed by the emperor, to Lady Nian, with no family left to rely on.

In the end, utterly hopeless, she died a miserable death in the Cold Palace.

When she opened her eyes again, she was once more the most doted-on young daughter of the Nian family.

And by her side was still Songzhi, whose whole heart and gaze belonged to her.

This time, she no longer sought the emperor's favor.

She only hoped to protect the girl who foolishly followed behind her, calling her Mistress.

A new Noble Lady Nian had arrived at Yikun Palace, but she was in poor health and had never once attended the emperor.

That night, the moon was bright and the stars were sparse.

The palace attendants brought in hot water once again.

On the bed, where the emperor usually lay, was the head palace maid of Yikun Palace.

Her clothes were disheveled, her eyes misty with tears as she softly called, “Your Ladyship.”

“What's wrong?” Nian Shilan looked at those tempting red lips, leaned in, and bit them again.

“Is Head Maid Songzhi unhappy with the way I serve you?”

Inner thoughts: After being reborn, both are pure.
