Afternoon Tea Mysteries for the Rich Wife [II]

Mystery-of-the-week cases | All-female detective team | Everyone has a pairing, and the husbands are just for show |

Song Fangsheng's detective agency has finally opened. She takes every kind of case, from catching cheaters to tracking down killers, and her career as a cheongsam-clad sleuth is thriving. The only one to pity is her husband, whom she married less than two years ago. He sees his wife for barely four hours a day and spends every day alone in their empty home.

Ye Qiurong has become Mrs. Duan again. Taking advantage of her first pregnancy, she acts high and mighty and keeps her husband under her thumb. In between solving cases, she has started seriously preparing for the entrance exams, determined to become Shanghai's first formidable woman to attend school while pregnant.

Shen Liman will ultimately have to pay for her own flirtatious ways. One man from a gang keeps pestering her, while another clings to her under the pretext of assignments from the police station. They both want her to give them a proper place in her life, following her all the way home and scaring her so badly she doesn't dare go back despite having a home.

The three well-to-do wives each show off their skills, captivating all of Shanghai.

Reader's guide:

1. The focus is on solving mysteries, with very little romance (all of it is in the first book). If you're unfamiliar with the emotional entanglements of the three couples, start with the first book.

2. Song Fangsheng is a passionate, highly educated career woman; Ye Qiurong is a little firecracker with a photographic memory; Shen Liman? Oh, she's a player.

3. Expected to start posting in December at the end of the year. Feel free to bookmark it first.

Theme: As long as you don't give up, you'll succeed one day.
