Zhao Henian, the eldest prince of the Daye dynasty, was naturally carefree and hopeless at his studies.
While his younger brothers were busy fighting for the throne, he relied on divination to avoid every disaster, packed up and fled early to a distant fief, where he could enjoy a peaceful life of his own.
Life in his fief was so comfortable that, with nothing to do, Zhao Henian dressed up as a fortune-teller and set up shop on a footbridge. After an entire morning, he had only managed to attract one customer.
The customer wore a bamboo hat and a veil, and tossed down a piece of gold inlaid with jade worth a fortune as soon as they arrived.
Zhao Henian swallowed. "What would you like me to tell your fortune about?"
The customer said, "If you're a fortune-teller, tell me what I've come here to do."
For the sake of the gold and jade, Zhao Henian cast a divination with great solemnity. He shook the copper turtle and poured out a row of coins.
The moment he saw the hexagram, cold sweat instantly broke out across his back.
This person had come to kill him!
