Traces [Road Trip Story]

Ji Zhiqiu never thought she would start a relationship in a foreign land, much less become entangled with Shen Jibei until death.

The north was sweltering, and a roadside tavern was packed with travelers seeking shade.

In a private room behind the noisy entrance, Ji Zhiqiu was cornered by a tall, broad-shouldered man.

The cramped space forced their bodies close together.

Ji Zhiqiu instinctively leaned back to get away. The next moment, the man’s aggressive voice sounded beside her ear:

Shen Jibei: “So we really won’t see each other again?”

In the shadows, Ji Zhiqiu gazed into the man’s dark eyes and smiled alluringly. “You know I don’t belong here.”

Almost everyone who has traveled this road has heard the name Shen Jibei.

They also know he is exceptionally handsome, and that his broad frame draws plenty of eyes even when he is simply standing still.

The only impression people have of Shen Jibei is that he is taciturn, cool-headed, and not someone to mess with.

But lately, there has been one more thing to say: Shen Jibei is completely taken with Ji Zhiqiu.

When they learned he had decided to go find Ji Zhiqiu, they knew Shen Jibei would never come back.

“She was like a gust of wind. She lingered, but never left a trace.”
